Our appearance on the CW’s Louisville Live was all about the Kentucky Derby and the weird shenanigans we call Kentucky politics:
We’re shameless hacks and they put us on television!
Check out our most recent segment on the CW. All of the legislator & lobbyist scandal you can stomach along with political updates from around Louisville.
And this time the LEO is all up on the moonbat Metro Councilcritter.
Doug Hawkins’ (R-Protector of Our White Women) fear of those south of the border has grown exponentially over the years into a massive, public show he puts on anytime anyone will listen to him.
The most recent show involves gum balls, Newt Gingrich and “me no speak-ah de English” jokes.
Note to LEO: We love the headline.
From LEO’s Stephen George:
Is Doug Hawkins afraid of Mexicans? The councilman’s crusade against illegal immigration quietly continues
By Stephen George
I could sense it coming the way a dog understands doom slightly sooner than its owner.
We’d just finished an 11-minute video called “Immigration by the Numbers,” a pedantic piece by a man named Roy Beck, who uses gumballs to represent population projections from the U.S. Census Bureau. It’s his way of illustrating the overwhelming wrongness of the idea that America can help the Third World by welcoming its citizens into this country to seek economic prosperity — for those who remember what that’s like.

Kentucky Democratic Party Chair Jennifer Moore filed a complaint with the do-nothing Louisville Metro Ethics Commission against Doug Hawkins (R-Sombrero Lover).
Hawkins, a current Metro Council member who is running for State Senate against Perry Clark, links to his senate campaign website on his metro council site, something the KDP alleges is a clear violation of the Louisville Metro Ethics Ordinance (it is).
From a KDP press release:
“This is a blatant abuse of power. Doug Hawkins is simply using his position as a Metro Council Member to support his State Senate campaign and that is in violation of the ethics code,” Moore said. “I am confident that, after reviewing our complaint, the Commission will agree.”
While we agree with Moore’s opinion, it’s a little silly to get so up in arms over Kentucky’s most well-known protector of our white women against Mexicans. The citizens of the 37th State Senate District already know Doug Hawkins is insane. Pointing it out to them is a waste of time.
Isn’t there a senate race to meddle in somewhere? Some money to raise? Votes to buy? Maybe some legitimate work to be done… like pointing out idiots like Frank Simon have seriously violated campaign finance law again and again? Never hear anything about the real wrongdoers. We want some real leadership. Not bickering over a website.
Jennifer, don’t you know? Doug will protect you!
Can you handle it? Your favorite protector of the homeland has made a name for himself and he’s been invited to play with with the big kids.
Louisville’s Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins (R-Protecting us from Mexicans) will testify in Frankfort at 2:00 P.M. today before the House Standing Committee on the Judiciary in support of Rep. Bob Damrom’s HB 304. Damron’s bill would expand the definition of identity theft, prohibit the employment of illegal aliens and– you guessed it– push for already stressed local law enforcement to handle federal immigration enforcement.
Doug Hawkins. Protecting us from Mexicans all across the land. He’s finally made it to Frankfort to spew his nonsense. Huzzuh!
Ken Herndon, Louisville-Jefferson County’s Democratic Judge-Executive, has officially filed to run for the 6th District Metro Council seat that represents Old Louisville, several South Central neighborhoods, the area surrounding the University of Louisville and a portion of downtown. The 6th District seat is currently held by Democratic Councilman George Unseld.
“I look forward to offering the residents of the 6th District the kind of high-energy, focused leadership other districts have had and that we deserve”, says Herndon.
Herndon has been a staple of Democratic politics in Louisville for decades. Via a press release today, his campaign noted that he’s been knocking on doors for six months and has already raised nearly $20,000 for the local race.
Page One has the story of Metro Councilman Jim King supporting Mitch McConnell.
What may come as a surprise to many, however, is that Democratic Louisville Metro Councilman Jim King (D-10th) shelled out $500 to attend. King was the last person anti-war protesters expected to see leaving an event usually filled with Republican business leaders. But that’s who they saw: Jim King, faux Democrat, who nearly fainted when he realized he’d been caught.
Click here for the rest of the details on Page One. Seems to be a major mistake for King.
