Seriously, why did Greg Fischer show up to the press conference for electronic domestic violence orders?

This is a function of the Circuit Court Clerk and has nothing to do with any office in Metro Government. One of the rare chances for David Nicholson’s hard working staff to get news exposure. And Greg showed up to act like he knew what was going on and took all the attention.

Since the sheriff serves these things, we’d expect John Aubrey to be present giving a talk. But. Uh. Really?

Greg’s staff cursed and slammed the telephone down when I questioned them. Because they could provide zero answers.

Andrew Compton’s body still hasn’t been located. Saturday marked the fifth day of searching a Southern Indiana landfill. I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I can’t wait for this to come to an end so the public can learn the details of what really happened. [FOX 41]

Compton’s brother wrote on his website Saturday that we shouldn’t believe everything the media tells us, expressing frustration. I know I speak for everyone when I saw our thoughts are with the Compton Family. [Andrew Compton is Missing]

Where are WHAS11 teevee folks from 1980 at today? This flashback is sure to give you laughs. [WHAS11]

Will anything ever change with Passport? With the University of Louisville officials controlling the board have to answer for their lack of oversight? Will Larry Cook’s behavior with our tax dollars become the new standard for screwing the poor over? At least one newspaper in Kentucky takes this seriously. [H-L]

Jackie Green apparently thinks he’s still running for mayor. He sent out an email blast on Saturday complaining about TARC’s new development plans. [Now He's Irrelevant?]

WHAS11 hyped this story about “traditional marriage” by Rachel Platt for an entire week. Like it was the end of the world and this story was your savior.
Jackie Green sent an email blast this morning asking supporters to email various big dogs at WHAS11 and UofL because he’s not welcome to participate in this evening’s mayoral debate. While silly, of course, the two entities decided a long time ago that candidates wouldn’t be invited if they don’t poll at at least 5%. If they didn’t make exceptions for the congressional debate, they’re not gonna make exceptions for the mayoral debate.
Ed Martin, the Libertarian running for congress in the 3rd District, hired new staff members. Some guy named Ronald Seiter as campaign manager who was affiliated with the local teabagger group.

Rumor has it prosecutor Carol Cobb plans to throw her hat in the race for Commonwealth’s Attorney.

I’ve done a bit of calling around to various attorneys today and everyone seems to think she’s the real deal.

I mean, check out this info on the CA’s website:

On November 13, 2008, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Carol Cobb became the first recipient of the Achievement in Excellence Award bestowed by the Women Lawyers Association (WLA) of Jefferson County at its Annual Meeting and luncheon. This award honors “an extraordinary attorney in our community who, over the years, has made significant contributions to the legal profession,” and is a role model for all practitioners of law, based on integrity and professionalism.

Ms. Cobb began her career at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office in 1987 and recently retired as Chief of the award-winning Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Division. Among her many professional honors, she was named “Prosecutor of the Year” by citizen groups in 1991 and 1999. She has been much acclaimed for her trial skills, and her closing arguments are matched by few. Her empathy with victims was unmatched. Ms. Cobb served on numerous boards and committees, including the Executive Board of the WLA.

I haven’t kept up with that race too frequently but she seems like a serious candidate, should she actually jump in.

Thoughts?
