You know I don’t whine about my civil rights and liberties being violated. Much to the chagrin of the faux fairness folks, I don’t even push the marriage equality effort (maybe because I’m more concerned about the disgusting level of poverty in Eastern Kentucky and the horrible state of that cesspool you know as Frankfort) on a regular basis.

So you need to take a moment today to consider what I am denied in life. You need to think about just how fragile your life is and how terribly wrong things can go in the blink of an eye. If you’re afforded the right to marry, you need to think about how you’re protected when life goes wrong. And how I am not. How thousands of other Kentuckians like me are left to fend for themselves. No recourse. No protection. Nowhere to turn. Out of luck. It’s serious and life-altering.
