It’s always nice to see Kentucky artists getting lots of national recognition. So take a look at these ten Kentucky bands you should listen to now. [Paste Magazine]

Yesterday, LG&E announced the retirement of Chip Keeling as Vice President of Communications. His replacement will be Chris Whelan. Guess that little incident turned out to be a problem. [Press Release]

Let’s see how East End White Fear impacts the Brownsboro Road sidewalk project. Yes, East End White Fear. [FOX41]

Here’s your friend, Jim Peden, once again trying to mess with housing code. First, he didn’t want to be around poor people. Now? He doesn’t want Louisville to grow. [C-J/AKN]

John Yarmuth doesn’t hate the gays: “As a strong supporter of marriage equality, I am proud that President Obama has joined the millions of Americans committed to equal rights and fairness for all our citizens,” Yarmuth said. “This is a historic day for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples and their families across our country.” [Press Release]

You can’t even send your kids to school in Fern Creek these days without gun fears. [WAVE3]

Even Clear Channel’s Mandy Connell knows the gays aren’t second-class citizens. [Twitter]

Other media outlets should sack up and point out that Wes Jackson is clueless when it comes to integrity and standards of, you know, other media outlets. WFPL’s folks did so on Twitter but didn’t on their own site. [WFPL]

Here’s a solid look at Sarah Lynn Cunningham, the non-establishment candidate who has spent her entire life fighting against corruption. Her role as MSD whistleblower is still major. [CN|2]

Be honest. Did you roll your eyes a little bit when you learned Jim Host had resigned as chairman of the arena authority? [C-J/AKN]

Greg Fischer is really mad at people who camp out and complain about him. So he’s going to “ban” them. Because his time couldn’t be better spent focusing on the city’s actual needs. [WFPL]

A grand jury indicted three men Wednesday on murder and other felony charges in the weekend death of a Frankfort man, Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton said. [H-L]

Louisville’s tourist economy would be much more healthy if it focused on the rest of the state instead of just Louisville. You wouldn’t believe how impossible it’s been to get places like the Science Center and Belle of Louisville to realize there are people who live in the rest of the state with lots of cash and no idea Louisville exists. [Business First]

People like Keith Hall, Bob Damron, Jim Gooch, Ancel Smith, Richard Henderson and Larry Clark spend their entire lives fighting against what they perceive to be a demon – the gays – because it’s impossible to wrap their little minds around anything that doesn’t involve locking women away in the kitchen and forcing others to hold the same beliefs as them. Their lives are consumed with hatred and speaking out against anything remotely resembling equality. Their ignorance – based on the furthest thing imaginable from any teaching that’s Christ-like – is responsible for turmoil and pain in thousands upon thousands of lives throughout this country.

That may not matter to you. You may never consider equality and may not be able to dedicate more than five minutes of your life to think about it.

Thousands of you (whether a handful of Democrats in Frankfort like it or not – and you know they don’t) visit this site on a daily basis and are reading what I have to say at this very moment.

You know I don’t whine about my civil rights and liberties being violated. Much to the chagrin of the faux fairness folks, I don’t even push the marriage equality effort (maybe because I’m more concerned about the disgusting level of poverty in Eastern Kentucky and the horrible state of that cesspool you know as Frankfort) on a regular basis.

So you need to take a moment today to consider what I am denied in life. You need to think about just how fragile your life is and how terribly wrong things can go in the blink of an eye. If you’re afforded the right to marry, you need to think about how you’re protected when life goes wrong. And how I am not. How thousands of other Kentuckians like me are left to fend for themselves. No recourse. No protection. Nowhere to turn. Out of luck. It’s serious and life-altering.

Remember Bluegrass Boardwalk? The Koch Family secured a fifty year lease from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. But they still haven’t disclosed details of their secretive financing, don’t have ride vendors and the state has to sign the lease and give them “financial incentives.” [WHAS11]

If you’re a blogger and you receive equipment, food, products and mention them in your writing? The FTC requires you to disclose the specifics. If you wear a t-shirt you receive from a restaurant in a photo? You’ve gotta make a disclosure. Yes, this means if you receive a free taste of coffee? It must be disclosed. Stop playing pat-a-cake and giving others a bad name when you violate regulations.
Mittens Romney is coming to John Schnatter’s house and everybody is freaking out. Never mind that Schnatter, you know, almost always backs the loser. Including Bruce Lunsford and other losing Democrats. [FOX41]

Greg Fischer on Charlie Rose? HAHAHA. Lawwwd, that is truly pee-worthy if we’ve ever seen pee-worthy. [Charlie Rose]

Predictions on how long it takes for A Kentucky Newspaper to not change at all? One day? One week? A month? How long will it take the feigned hype to die down before nothing changes?
The only “controversy” surrounding the Brownsboro Road sidewalk project is who opposes it. They’re all wealthy, East End white guys people who can’t come up with a good excuse. Draw from that what you will. It doesn’t help that they’re represented by Steve Henry confidant Bob Gunnell/guy who owes the IRS $400K+/guy who violated his operations agreement with Mark and Tim Mulloy after causing his former firm problems. Doesn’t help that a female WHAS11 reporter continues to push this story for him for whatever reason. A female reporter who, it must be noted, is a social climber who has tried to hump every available male in a perceived position of power – including Jake (that’s how disconnected from reality the girl is).
That strange taste in your mouth? The new-ish folks in charge at WAVE3 are reverting to the station’s borderline mouth-breathing ways of their early post-9/11 years. [WAVE3]

When are you mouth-breathers going to realize that your hate and ignorance helps drive young gay people to take their lives? Is it impossible for you to comprehend that hate, discrimination, defamation and attacks are the antithesis of what you claim to espouse? Of course you don’t. You won’t realize it until hordes of mouth-breathers start killing themselves for realizing they’re living in an ignorant fantasy world.
You’ll pay $5 more on Oaks and $10 on Derby to get into Churchill Downs if you merely walk up to the gate. It’s also kind of surprising that limited reserve seating is still available this late in the year.
Kentucky has the #2 worst well-being of all 50 states in the United States of America. The only state worse is West Virginia. And that’s just barely. [HuffPo]

LMPD was a no-show last night at a meeting with Occupy Louisville. The excuse is that there’s ongoing litigation. LMPD folks tell us Greg Fischer’s office made that decision. [Deep Louisville Failures]

This is what Steve Beshear’s crew is all about. And people still try to tell me they’re golden and wonderful people. [H-L]

Really, it’s unbelievably hilarious that Jim Host is still pretending to be shocked that Ted Nicholson was fired from the Grease Bucket Arena. [FOX41]

And now Yum! Brands is denying reports that it has plans for restaurants in Iran. [Business First]

For more proof Nicholson was part of the problem and a Host/Beshear apologist, look how Ron Carmicle and the rest of the Beshear crew are reacting. [WHAS11]

Tell us we’re wrong for thinking Jefferson County Public Schools are once again about to get the shaft. Central office workers are in a rage, emailing is non-stop.
There were absolutely no other important news stories in Louisville. So this station did a story about pot holes. [WLKY]

March is American Red Cross Month in Kentucky. Officially. So why aren’t the Fairness folks complaining about that? It’s an organization that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation. And the Commonwealth’s government officially approves of it.
Get a load of the comments people were leaving over the corrupt Cordish deal. You’d think someone in Greg’s office would have had enough sense to get in front of this prior to the fallout.
Greg Fischer says 2012 will be a “breakout year” for Louisville. A breakout how?
The local airport is set to get full body scanning devices. So that means everyone is going to freak completely out for a while. [FOX41]

The entirety of the local press is wetting itself because the Sherman Minton is set to reopen soon. You can bet every station will have 7,000 cameras on-hand for the event.
This Business First editorial about how boycotting the Fund for the Arts won’t resolve the orchestra dispute is spot-on. But you can’t let facts and reality seep into a political discussion in Louisville.
The EPA’s new air toxics rules are officially on the books. So that means your elected officials are going to fight to make Louisville’s air quality that much worse. [WFPL]

You know what’s not good? Finding a body on I-71. Or anywhere. Which seems to happen every day in Louisville. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has likely smited us all. [WLKY]

What happens when you’re a Baptist pastor and you don’t have the gays? You’re forced to leave the Baptist association.
