The Public Service Commission approved LG&E’s land swap with Metro Government to help complete a 100-mile hiking and biking trail. From a release: Louisville Gas & Electric Co. (LG&E) will deed 6.94 acres of land at its Cane Run power plant in western Jefferson County to Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government in exchange for 17.198 acres of vacant city-owned property that abuts the Cane Run plant property on Woodland Avenue. Guess she got Dr. Frank’s urgent email blast. She had a fancy paper in-hand attacking “liberal educators” that indoctrinate our children with anti-God rhetoric.

You get that? The liberals caused the housing collapse. And we’re supposed to feel sorry for her and her gigantic East End home built by illegal immigrants.

The blacks! The ghetto! John Yarmuth! Socialism! Libruls! OH GOD THE LIBRULS! Socialist agenda! Busing! She cared so much about what she was spewing that she left a few minutes after her rant.

It’s a shame that socialism, otherwise known as Medicare and Medicaid, help pay her nursing salary.

What’s sad is that she had a few good points… but it all got lost in the crazy. My favorite part was the end when all the teabaggers went batshiz cheering for her. Wonder if any of Doug Hawkins’ drunken supporters were there in the crowd? Chris Thieneman certainly was, along with his faux-journalist pal who lives rent-free in one of his apartments in exchange for positive press.

The woman is a real piece of work.

But here’s what concerns me: 45,016 people voted for other Democratic candidates in that race. And there were 48,510 Republican votes cast for candidates on the R side.

Since the Republican Party of Kentucky won’t have to focus much on the U.S. Senate race (the teabaggers will take care of that for them) and since this is the first real shot in a long time at a Republican mayor in Louisville… What will happen? Will RPK focus its attention on Louisville?

Take a look at the Democratic map below. Tyler Allen is the purple speck. David Tandy is dark green. Jim King is bright green. Greg Fischer cleaned up in blue.

• Tyler Allen won a single precinct, L143, by a single vote (15) over David Tandy (14). It’s a geographically small area west of downtown.
• David Tandy really showed his strength in the western and central parts of town.
• Jim King won less than 40 (CORRECTION – 49 precincts, according to the King Camp) precincts.

Now check out the Republican map:

• Jonathan Robertson won two precincts in the West End.
• Chris Thieneman held his own in the southern and southwestern parts of town.
• And Hal Heiner cleaned up everywhere in green.

Thoughts on all this without getting nasty? It is the day after election day, after all.

Louisville may be “weird” but it certainly doesn’t like its candidates with any fancy flair.

Oh, and Thieneman? You did drop out in 2008 and endorsed John Yarmuth. But nice flat-out lie, holmes. [The 'Ville Voice]

Unfortunately, she sent the message to thousands of people (like myself, who didn’t sign up for her list) and directed them to the incorrect polling place. Tyler Allen’s campaign folks are keen on attacking Greg Fischer every breath they get. And I support that. But it could also be argued that Tyler Allen is helping to hand the election to Greg Fischer– the very man his people are fighting against. [Just An Observation]
