This is why Kentucky needs House Bill 233. If you’re an animal care advocate, you’ll want to pay close attention. [Page One]

Mitch McConnell spent part of his time this weekend addressing Burmese refugees here in Louisville. [FOX41]

Go read the quote from Greg Fischer about local food in this story and tell us you don’t feel like he’s talking down to some five-year-olds in his mind. [WHAS11]

What? Greg Fischer is in another socialite photo spread? You don’t say! [Voice-Tribune]

Can you imagine Greg Fischer sitting on a panel of mayors to discuss educational reform? HAHAHA. He went to an exclusive private school and every member of his family did the same. He’s literally never worked a day in his life for a paycheck. And still thinks he can come off knowing anything about the needs of public education. HAHAHAHAHA. [C-SPAN]

Don’t hold your breath, Curt. Emily Dennis isn’t about to dig too deeply. And if the case got to the point where Jack Conway had to appoint a special prosecutor, it’d take a couple years for anything to happen. And then folks would plead down to misdemeanors. Won’t even get that far unless you’re willing to spend $30,000ish on attorneys to push it. [Curt Morrison]

The Public Service Commission approved LG&E’s land swap with Metro Government to help complete a 100-mile hiking and biking trail. From a release: Louisville Gas & Electric Co. (LG&E) will deed 6.94 acres of land at its Cane Run power plant in western Jefferson County to Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government in exchange for 17.198 acres of vacant city-owned property that abuts the Cane Run plant property on Woodland Avenue. Because the city property has a higher appraised value, LG&E also will pay $56,400 to Louisville Metro government. [Press Release]

Remember Todd Lally? Now he wants to run for the newly-created 10th District State House seat in Eastern Jefferson County. [Ryan Alessi]

Greg Fischer promised he’d stand up for equality as he pocketed thousands upon thousands of gay dollars on the campaign trail. So where’s he at now? Not standing up for equality. [Here & Here]

Congressman John Yarmuth is cosponsoring two bills that ensure no U.S. citizen may be indefinitely detained or have their right to due process violated. [Twitter & More Twitter]

How excited do you think Greg Fischer was to hear Ed Hart chapping his rear end on the radio today? [WFPL]

Perennial candidate Chris Thieneman filed to run for State Senate in the 37th district. [SoS]

He then pointed out how the entire Abramson cabal backs his opponent. Greg Fischer cracked a hideous joke about tolls, said the Bridges Authority is doing a fine job (Heiner said he’d review the group to determine if they stay or get replaced), fudged a bit more about the ice machine he didn’t invent. Heiner offered to open up all the hidden documents to unbury the bodies and Fischer lied yet again about his campaign not being involved in the anti-Heiner video. [Deep Mayoral Thoughts]

Brave Patriot Marilyn Parker, the woman I was set to gay marry! By a Muslin. For fun.

Guess she got Dr. Frank’s urgent email blast. She had a fancy paper in-hand attacking “liberal educators” that indoctrinate our children with anti-God rhetoric.

Oh, wait! There’s audio of Marilyn’s rant:

You get that? The liberals caused the housing collapse. And we’re supposed to feel sorry for her and her gigantic East End home built by illegal immigrants.

The blacks! The ghetto! John Yarmuth! Socialism! Libruls! OH GOD THE LIBRULS! Socialist agenda! Busing! She cared so much about what she was spewing that she left a few minutes after her rant.

It’s a shame that socialism, otherwise known as Medicare and Medicaid, help pay her nursing salary.

What’s sad is that she had a few good points… but it all got lost in the crazy. My favorite part was the end when all the teabaggers went batshiz cheering for her. Wonder if any of Doug Hawkins’ drunken supporters were there in the crowd? Chris Thieneman certainly was, along with his faux-journalist pal who lives rent-free in one of his apartments in exchange for positive press.

The woman is a real piece of work.

Last night Greg Fischer pulled in 37,157 votes to win the Democratic primary for mayor.

But here’s what concerns me: 45,016 people voted for other Democratic candidates in that race. And there were 48,510 Republican votes cast for candidates on the R side.

Since the Republican Party of Kentucky won’t have to focus much on the U.S. Senate race (the teabaggers will take care of that for them) and since this is the first real shot in a long time at a Republican mayor in Louisville… What will happen? Will RPK focus its attention on Louisville?

Take a look at the Democratic map below. Tyler Allen is the purple speck. David Tandy is dark green. Jim King is bright green. Greg Fischer cleaned up in blue.

Tyler Allen won a single precinct, L143, by a single vote (15) over David Tandy (14). It’s a geographically small area west of downtown.

David Tandy really showed his strength in the western and central parts of town.

Jim King won less than 40 (CORRECTION – 49 precincts, according to the King Camp) precincts.

Now check out the Republican map:

Jonathan Robertson won two precincts in the West End.

Chris Thieneman held his own in the southern and southwestern parts of town.

And Hal Heiner cleaned up everywhere in green.

Thoughts on all this without getting nasty? It is the day after election day, after all.

Louisville may be “weird” but it certainly doesn’t like its candidates with any fancy flair.

Chris Thieneman had his campaign staffers write a letter to the editor on his behalf. “Ostentatious”? Really? Hahaha. [They Get Letters]

Oh, and Thieneman? You did drop out in 2008 and endorsed John Yarmuth. But nice flat-out lie, holmes. [The 'Ville Voice]

It’s election day! And Gunner Is For Jack Conway! [Click the Clicky]

Yesterday, Shannon White sent out an email blast about her polling location. Unfortunately, she sent the message to thousands of people (like myself, who didn’t sign up for her list) and directed them to the incorrect polling place. She sent out an update with a correction later in the day. [Just A Funny Story]

Tyler Allen’s campaign folks are keen on attacking Greg Fischer every breath they get. And I support that. But it could also be argued that Tyler Allen is helping to hand the election to Greg Fischer– the very man his people are fighting against. [Just An Observation]

It’s taken two years, but Robert Felner was finally sentenced yesterday. He’ll serve 63 months in jail. Take a trip down the memory hole. [Page One]

The final push of the mayoral campaigns was strong this weekend. But something about it seemed rather quiet and subdued. No matter how much work the campaigns say they put into things.
