Maybe people wouldn’t be freaking out about two tiny parking spots if Louisville were more pedestrian-friendly and more people walked to alleviate their fat problem? [C-J/AKN]

A University of Louisville professor doesn’t believe rallies will end violence. Because guess what? They won’t. [FOX41]

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not backing down on its promise to engage in the most aggressive campaign operation in its 100 year history, despite a recent court decision that would require disclosure of secret donors behind issue ads. [Politico]

Here’s a teevee story about the Ohio River Bridges Debacle allegedly creating thousands of jobs. No mention, of course, that those jobs will eventually land in Indiana and thousands of others will move there. [WAVE3]

Nope, no one turned out to vote. So few voted, in fact, that it is embarrassing to be a Kentuckian at the moment. [H-L]

WHAS11 spent an entire 11:00 P.M. segment last night on this lady sex book called “Fifty Shades of Grey” because it is apparently big, important news on election night. [WHAS11]

What’s that? You mean the Metro Sewer District wants to raise your rates another 6.5% and they waited until election day to hide that news? Surely not! [C-J/AKN]

Bullying is a real issue, sure, even on Facebook. But targeting online bullying isn’t going to stop the violence occurring in Louisville’s streets. [WLKY]

BRAVE PATRIOT Teabagger Birther Marilyn Parker is now essentially a Louisville Metro Council member. PEE ALERT. Let’s take this trip down the crazy lane. [The 'Ville Voice]

Despite Louisville’s attempts to build a healthy culture around biking through the addition of bicycle lanes across the city and promotion of events such as last week’s Bike to Work Day, Kentucky overall has been less bike friendly, according to a new study. [Business First]

What? Metro Parks needs work? You don’t say. Louisville has scored near the bottom on a new ranking of park systems in the nation’s 40 largest cities. The city came in 38th. [WFPL]

Why the hell did it take a judge to decide it was okay for a kid to wear a gay t-shirt? [WKYT]

What was that, Greg, about Louisville being the most compassionate city in the country? What was that, again, about Louisville being the safest city in the nation? Quit with the damn buzz words. You looked and sounded like an imbecile while 95% of the city was stressed and saddened over yesterday’s tragic mess of death. For the sake of this city and the people who are hurting, quit with the buzz words. [Wake Up, Greg]

Everybody is apparently pissed over whatever Christopher 2X said on the teevee. [FOX41]

Morgan McGarvey will win this race with the endorsements his daddy got him. Without daddy, Crit and Jack wouldn’t know who Morgan is. [C-J/AKN]

Do you have faith that “Metro leaders” will be able to put a plan into place to stop all the violence in Louisville? [WAVE3]

From the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet: As mandated by the Kentucky Legislature, uninsured motorists across the Commonwealth will begin receiving notices in June that registrations for their personal vehicles will be canceled if they do not obtain required insurance or show proof of existing insurance. [Press Release & More Info]

West End residents are less than happen about the spree of recent shootings, to say the least. But this doesn’t mean the West End is the only place crimes are being committed.
Louisville is apparently the 18th most miserable city in the United States of America. Are you surprised? [Business Insider]

WLKY’s teevee people – since it’s hype week – say they have: “uncovered serious gaps in metro Louisville’s first-response system where hundreds of people in dire medical emergencies did not get help in time to save them.” Forgive us for being skeptical about anything Neal Richmond has to say and any blame he places on the Fire Department. He’s not in Louisville often enough to know what’s going on. [WLKY]

Read this story from June 2000. You’ll have Butchertown-Swift flashbacks like woah. [Pulitzer]

Almost nobody is going to go vote on Tuesday. All those television advertising dollars? Completely wasted. [H-L]

Why is it Boy Scouts get to camp out all over the place but the city’s homeless aren’t permitted to do so? [C-J/AKN]

The economy is still struggling to gain momentum, though long-term trends remain expansionary, the Conference Board declared, as it reported that its index of leading economic indicators dipped in April for the first decline since September. [Business First]

Will anybody ride their bike in to work today? You know, the handful of people who have jobs? Or are they all afraid of getting shot up? Maybe they’re just afraid of dying on the 2nd Street Bridge or Lower Brownsboro? [WFPL]

Gregory O’Bryan is scheduled to appear at a pre-trial hearing in about an hour. The body of Andrew Compton, the guy he killed, still hasn’t been recovered. [WHAS11]

It’s a shame newspapers have to sue the state for illegally withholding information from public records regarding child death investigations. Steve Beshear should be absolutely ashamed. Unfortunately, those same newspapers will let him shirk any and all responsibility. [H-L]

Child Sex Apologist & Enabler Thomas Kelly is dead. We’re supposed to feel sympathy for him? Couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy. [Sick Effer Is Dead]

How fitting that Greg Fischer would issue a statement praising the most brazen child predator in a century. [84WHAS]

Your local lie-berry is offering books in electronic format. Which is a good thing, since nobody reads actual books anymore. [WFPL]

It’s interesting to watch everybody freak out about some animals discovered in a mess in Henry County. It’s also interesting that they never bother to get upset – because the mainstream media absolutely ignores it – about Louisville Metro Animal Services, where several hundred animals die each month. All while Greg Fischer and his inexperienced staff lie and mislead. [WKYT]

So you won’t be surprised to learn that Kentucky ranks last when it comes to animal cruelty laws. People like Representatives Joni Jenkins and Ron Crimm have tried to remedy the situation to no avail. [WAVE3]

Congressman John Yarmuth is speaking out about reckless spending and a lack of accountability: “It’s astonishing that we still can’t get a full accounting of the Pentagon,” Congressman Yarmuth said. “With automatic cuts to defense coming because of the super committee’s failure, we need to know how to responsibly eliminate wasteful spending.” [Press Release]

Americans United for the Separation of Church and State are wading in to the University of Louisville Hospital merger mess and are holding Steve Beshear’s feet to the fire. [Press Release]

Oh, look, it’s the Lane Report pretending a press release from Greg Fischer’s office is a big deal. Acting as if he’s a “top-growth leader” isn’t just laughable – it’s sad. [Lane Report]

The University of Louisville Hospital is still spending your tax dollars like woah pretending that a religious take-over is a good thing. [C-J/AKN]

Where’s the head of EMS? Oh, right, not even in Kentucky. You’d think someone like that would speak up about a lack of a contract. Or maybe that Greg Fischer would fire his ass. But we all know he could show up drunk and drive around in a city vehicle and still get to keep his job. [FOX41]

Like Phil Osborne says, all you have to do is follow the money in Frankfort. That’s exactly what we’re doing. [Page One]

Bike lanes are awesome. Especially in neighborhoods like Bon Air. But we wish the city would do even more simple things like, you know, provide sidewalks in its urban neighborhoods. [Broken Sidewalk]

We’re really supposed to believe Humana grew suspicious of two statues some 20 years after they were installed in the company’s headquarters? Not even the executives at the company we spoke with are buying it. It’s a good move, though, that they were voluntarily returned to Italy. [Business First]

A positive note, finally! Louisville music is a big deal and it’s in the latest Nylon Magazine. Cheyenne Marie Mize is mentioned at the link but Nerves Junior and other music highlights are in the print edition. The now-defunct ear X-tacy and WFPK even get lots of page space. [Nylon]

Remember J.D. Byrider? Looks like it and its ilk are making the national news yet again for deceptive and shady practices. [LA Times]

Don’t get us wrong. We love trees and the environment (clearly). But this is what Greg Fischer has time to do? Time to create a tree advisory board? But no time to deal with LMAS, EMS, MSD, Parks? [WFPL]

Holding a vigil for ear X-tacy? What? [FOX41]

We wish this were more of a possibility in Louisville. Swapping tail pipes for pedals could pay huge dividends for public health and the economy. [HuffPo]

Pro-tip to Tom Eblen: No one outside of Louisville and parts of Lexington has a clue what “Hindu” means. [H-L]

Greg Fischer and his trust fund staffers couldn’t be bothered to actually improve the food truck situation so – get this – Metro Councilcritters are doing so. Maybe. Finally. [More WFPL]

Really? A constable in the southwestern part of town drew his gun on a shoplifter at Walmart and shot her? By the jacktard that’s been a problem for Louisville for YEARS? Giving all law enforcement a bad name. [C-J/AKN]

Here’s a big shocker, right? Louisville ranks high on a poverty list from the Brookings Institution. 54,721 people in extreme poverty tracts, an increase of 16,771. [WHAS11 & Brookings]

Food trucks won’t let their trust fund metro gubmint honchos rain on their parade and are having a thing tomorrow during the Trolley Hop. [Consuming Louisville]

Repair work is finally getting under way on the Sherman Minton bridge so people can stop freaking out for a few minutes. [WAVE3]

PNC is finally getting with the times and jumping on what the rest of the world requires: smart credit/debit cards. Naturally, the bank is spinning this as protecting their customers without mentioning it’s nearly required when traveling abroad these days. And your local business publication fell for the press release spin. [Business First]

The story about the woman who beat a guy to death with a baseball bat continues to get weirder and weirder. [WLKY]

And you know I know what I’m talking about. You need to get the money you’re owed by the state ASAP and tell them to kiss your ass.
This is how the University of Kentucky tries to silence its faculty members who speak up and ask questions. At the very least, this is how it tries to slow them down.
Metro Animal Services knows this dog died as a result of an illness (as so many do) it contract at LMAS facilities and is still refusing to cover its vet bills. Justin Scally maybe isn’t working out so well for your image, is he, Greg?
Here you go. Here’s more of Greg Fischer and the Democrats making all of their moves with organized labor 100% secret and not open to public scrutiny.
Jack Conway’s brain is melting (no, not from the bleach/Sun-In) because Sullivan University, a for-profit school, is the subject of some positive press about reducing its carbon footprint. Sure, Sullivan probably paid for it/got it for being an advertiser, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t melting Jack’s brain.

Quick, everybody freak out over this tenth of a cent tax increase by Jefferson County Public Schools! [Toni Konz]

There are even more subpoenas against Judy Green. This nightmare will apparently never end for our nice little city. [WFPL]

Whaaat? Steve Beshear got subpoenaed after refusing to divulge Saudi connections. We hear this isn’t going to end well for papaw. Maybe he shouldn’t have killed the contracts of people doing business at the Kentucky Horse Park who knew all the dirt? I mean, really, check this paragraph out: Kentucky Horse Park officials have since admitted in depositions that the KHP Foundation kept hundreds of thousands of dollars purportedly sent for the Exhibit while failing to divulge there was unspent funds. While the Exhibit was in development, Gov. Bashear carried on subsequent meetings and conversations with the Saudis in pursuit of more funding for undisclosed purposes, hosting a private dinner at the Governor’s mansion for Saudi Prince Faisal bin Abdullah, former Deputy Director of Saudi Intelligence and son in law of King Abdullah. The Saudis are now lobbying Congress and the Administration for nuclear supplies. Members of the US Congress have voiced serious concerns about this request, noting concerns about the country’s instability and the Saudi’s oft stated goal of gaining parity with Iran’s nuclear capabilities. [Press Release]

It comes as no surprise that the Republican Party of Kentucky is calling for an expanded review of Steve Beshear’s fundraising. In light of this Saudi scandal, well, uh, it seems necessary. [The Republic]

Maybe it’s not such a good idea to try walking across Ohio River bridges that aren’t, you know, safe for walking. [Formerly FOX41]

Cordish can afford to buy a $3 million parking garage but can’t afford to renovate properties or spend its own money operating 4th Street Live? HAHA. This city got shafted by those shysters and it’s about to happen again. [C-J/AKN]
