Metro Animal Services Hearings Start Today

The Metro Council ad-hoc committee on Louisville Metro Animal Services is made up of:

  • Cindi Fowler (D-14)
  • Kelly Downard (R-16)
  • David James (D-6)
  • Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9)
  • Kevin Kramer (R-11)
  • Marilyn Parker (R-18)
  • Madonna Flood (D-24)

Their first gathering is today at 4:00 P.M. 6th & Jefferson downtown. Sadiqa Reynolds is scheduled to sing her own praises, so you won’t want to miss it.

Show up if you can.

If you can’t, watch it on MetroTV.

A note to the councilmembers taking part: Thank you for standing up and doing the right thing for this city. Transparency is a big deal and it’s nice to see all of you pushing for that very thing. Keep standing up and your community will support you.

  1. Kelly: Here’s the first question for Sadiqa — What have you done about the guy who is sleeping in the city truck that appeared in the picture in Ville Voice several days ago? Can’t wait to hear her answer to that one. Second question: What have you done to prevent that from happening again? Third question: Are you going to have a ‘national search’ to find this truck driver’s replacement?

  2. On Monday at 5:30 PM at the Kroger on Outerloop Animal Control was called for a dog in a car with windows rolled up. Temps were in the upper 90’s. Owner came out 45 minutes later and animal control never showed up. We’re told by someone who contacted them that by the time they got there the owner was gone. No rush, it’s just a dog in a hot car. If AC cannot respond to these calls, can they not ask the Police to step in until they can arrive on scene? It’s ridiculous.
