Scally’s Childish LMAS Retaliation & Info Request

At noon today we’ll be taking a look back at Justin Scally’s unfortunate tenure at Louisville Metro Animal Services.

But before we get to that…

Maybe his departure will finally mean that LMAS folks will – after nearly two years – license my damn dog? It’s been a nightmare since March 2012. Every time I’ve sent in the renewal form with payment, rabies tag details and vet records, it gets “lost”. Checks never get cashed. LMAS staffers obfuscate and offer every excuse under the sun. Scally himself, though, has made it clear it’s an attempt to retaliate.

After my last interaction with Scally, I started receiving renewal late notices complete with fines/fees. In fact, his folks dared me to mention it publicly. So here I am mentioning it publicly.

It’s been fun, as you can imagine.

That sort of childish, petty behavior is the perfect illustration of the mess Scally has perpetuated at LMAS under Greg Fischer and Sadiqa Reynolds.

Can’t even begin to tell you how many similar stories I’ve heard over the past year. If you’ve had a similar experience, feel free to yell my way.

  1. I would be more shocked if you were able to get the license done with no hassle…seems pretty standard for LMAS.

  2. I had a slight feeling of hope upon hearing he was leaving– possibly opening the position to someone with real potential– but then I read that Ms. Reynolds was in charge of finding his replacement. GRRRRREAT.

Christ, animal control in a city like this is the shit, isn’t it. And I mean that literally.
