The Journal of Emergency Medical Services has taken note of his story:
Paramedic Joe Riffe, 31, was hiking and fell 110 feet. The injury was so severe that he really only had two options: to amputate it or have it fused. He chose the former.
It’s really just a link to local media reports but it’s telling.
Louisville Metro EMS and Greg Fischer can’t be bothered to take Riffe’s story seriously. The fact that his story resonates nationally just flies over their collective head.
