There was an attempt to establish an arboretum or conservatory or a big ol’ educational greenhouse for Louisville MORE than 26 yrs. ago. I took my children to a place on Baxter across from Cave Hill Cemetery that contained various & unusual succulents & rare plant forms. I think they were housed among plants & flowers that were for sale. But they hoped to eventually open a dedicated facility to showcase – & expand – the collection. This would have been in the late ’70s, I think.

Correction: I think that plant display was actually on Cherokee Rd., not Baxter.
