Another day, another senseless shooting in Louisville. Police at the scene say one man has died and a woman has been hurt in a double shooting in the 5000-block of Roederer Drive Wednesday night. [WDRB]
Now that the election is over and Barack Obama will be staying in the White House for another four years, environmental groups are hoping that some long-awaited new rules will break loose from the regulatory log-jam. All about coal ash disposal and water pollution. [Mother Jones]
Four families living in a Buechel apartment building on Beechbrook Road are still without electricity — lights and heat — at a critical time with temperatures falling near freezing. Maybe WHAS could spend a bit of time looking at other slumlords around town. Primarily the ones we’ve written about that Greg Fischer and crew prefer to ignore. [WHAS11]
Go ahead, folks, because it’s time to grab your ankles and bend over. Kentucky and Indiana are taking steps this week to determine who will build two new Ohio River bridges. [C-J/AKN]

Another story that I have not yet seen addressed in any mainstream local news media is the death of Bruce Gumer, longtime local businessman & one-time Derby ticket scalper.

Bruce Gumer was a very nice person, who loved this community. Gtown reader who the hell cares if he scalped a derby ticket. If people want to pay the price he is providing a service. He’s passed on now give his family a break.
