FAIRGROUNDS TRAFFIC: Was in traffic from 6:30 until we parked at 8:30 for an 8PM concert at Fairgrounds. The problem was not so much the traffic control around the fairgrounds as it was poorly managed personnel at the gates. It was taking them forever to get each car through the gates. Instead of taking money from multiple cars in the line streaming in, each car had to separately stop at the gate and then wait for the gate person to go in and out of their booth to make change and do whatever they had to do. It’s also not clear where you need to go to park. When leaving, the lack of lanes and exits from the parking lot meant that we waited an hour and a half to get onto Ring Road.
JCPS: I don’t have a problem with $100,000 salaries for administrators if they’re doing a great job and working directly in the schools. Part of the problem is the state continually cutting funds to the local schools. Given how much Louisville puts into the state’s tax coffers, it would be nice to see some of that flowing back.
