Urgent Note To Animal/Dog Lovers

If there’s anyone reading this who has the means to help a 9-week-old Dachshund puppy that’s positive for Parvo receive the treatment that it needs (i.e., pay for it), please contact Metro Animal Services immediately: 363-6609/361-1318.

Otherwise, you know what’s going to happen to it.

Surely there’s someone out there who can pay for its care and eventually foster it or take it in. If you can afford to pay for its immediate care, finding it a home once better likely won’t be much of an issue and several rescue organizations in town can help.

  1. Positive news – puppy is in foster with me for at least the night. Not vomitting etc since 4pm Wedn, which is also positive news. He’s alert though clearly tired and dehydrated, receiving sub-cu fluids. Sponsorship for hospitalization would still be ideal – they can stabilize him much more quickly (if he were to go downhill) if he’s under their watchful eye 24/7.

  2. My “sister” is a miniature dachshund that my mom rescued from LMAS in April 2005.

I haven’t seen any “Chip-Ins” on FB today, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. Is the Jessica that commented the Jessica from No Kill? Does this baby still need hospital sponsorship?

  3. Not the same Jessica.

From Jake: No Kill Louisville stepped up to the plate to pay for the pup’s treatment because LMAS could not do so.
