JCPS Bullying Lawsuit Has Been Partially Settled

May 2nd, 2012 by jake · 1 Comment

This just in (okay, about an hour ago) from Teddy Gordon’s PR person:

Jefferson County Public Schools and Ted Gordon agreed today to settle the restraining order portion of the current lawsuit regarding the fourth grader who was bullying another student in his class.

The remaining part of the lawsuit regarding damages will go forward with a hearing date to be determined.

This specific Agreed Order will be presented to Judge James Shake that stipulates that the female child will be transferred to a different school for the remainder of this school year and next school year.

Thoughts?

Sad that it actually took a lawsuit for that to happen in the first place. There are lots of solutions to bullying, but none of them are sitting and doing nothing.
