We’ve been harping for a week about Churchill Downs’ freakout on local businesses using the word “Derby” for unapproved events, promotions or in general.
So here’s another look at the “official” events Churchill Downs is okay with.

The Official Celebrity Derby Fight Party for Mayweather vs. Cotto Hosted by MTV’s Syrus
May 5, 2012 Louisville, KY
Yep. A fight party with Sex Appeal Magazine.
Really classy stuff.
But a small local business can’t have a Derby gathering.
We’ve got nothing against the fight or the party. Just want to give people an honest look at what’s allowed and what isn’t.
