What would you do if your home, place of employment and entire community were wiped off the face of the earth by a tornado? Recovery in Eastern Kentucky will take a long time and only the Red Cross remains on the ground supporting the people who most need it. [Click Here To Give]

Let’s get this straight: a group of people involving Christopher 2X and Greg Fischer want to increase the public’s trust in the police department. But they held a closed-door meeting with police, in which no press were allowed, and only shared photos after the event? Really? [FOX41]

Dear Young Republicans: you should probably never, ever apologize for Greg Fischer. [Curt Morrison]

Now that Stephen Daeschner is gone – again – Greater Clark County Schools is trying to find a new superintendent. Wonder if they’ll try Sheldon Berman next? [WAVE3]

All kinds of mouth-breathers have been freaking out over John Yarmuth’s Congressional art competition. So here’s a link to Republican Geoff Davis’ own art competition. [Click the Clicky]

What? Yet another giant drug bust in J-town? This is an interesting new pattern. [WHAS11]

Now that corporations have begun to cut ties with ALEC, it’s time to demand that legislators do the same. Legislators like Denise Harper Angel – who is furiously trying to distance herself without effectively doing so. [The Nation]

You can’t even have a kid in Louisville these days without it getting shot. It’s a shame we can’t say that this is a first. [WLKY]

Do you hear all kinds of extra mouth-breathing lately? It’s because some wingnuts are freaking out over the University of Louisville receiving funds to conduct adult stem cell research. [WFPL]

Duke Energy Corp., General Electric Co. and other Fortune 500 companies avoided paying federal taxes in 2011 by using a popular U.S. tax break known as accelerated depreciation. [Business First]

“Searchin’ for a Good School Leader”

Clark County teacher #1: “I wonder whom the dumb Board will appoint next.”

Clark County teacher #2: “Let’s see, Daeschner is gone. I heard Berman’s in Oregon.”

Clark County teacher #1: “How about Daeschner’s good friend, the ex-dean at UofL?”

Clark County teacher #2: “Maybe–if he’s out of prison yet.”

Hmmm, stem cell research + UofL sounds like economic stimulus. . . . yes, that would be terrible for Louisville; I can see why the mouth-breathers hate that.

“Keep UofL Research That Really Counts”

Adult stem research at UofL is among the most valuable there (unlike so many others that amount to a hill of beans). To let Medieval mouth-brathers “stem” such research for their own mindless parochial ends would be a real loss to humankind.
