You already knew that Greg Fischer wouldn’t be going to the Portland neighborhood. We told you last week.
But read this:
Initially, the mayor’s office would not comment on the reason for the mayor’s absence, however, later confirmed in an interview that Fischer will be out of town on vacation.
HAHAHA. Vacation.
But it gets better. From Chris Poynter, the guy who was promised the top job and then didn’t get it (because Greg had people to pay back):
“All the mayor’s leadership will be there. The mayor is taking a very much needed and very much deserved vacation with his family. So he will not be there, however, all his top leadership will be there and there will be plenty of people there for the citizens to interact with,” says mayoral spokesman Chris Poynter.
Can’t breathe. Ha.
No worries, though. He’s sending Sadiqa in his place. Nothing to fear at all. Because we know how skilled she’s been with everything else.

He’s done this to other community groups as well. One that I’m involved in rescheduled 4 times (his office always rescheduled at the last minute after we had made last minute changes, including venue to accommodate his latest and greatest “confirmed” date) eventually the group gave up and wrote him off. We saw it as a total lack of respect.

My point is that he went on vacation when he was supposed to go to the West End.
I’m betting he wasn’t on vacation the other times – he just had social hours to attend.

He seems to have forgotten that without the West End he wouldn’t BE Mayor. One can only hope the community remembers this in the next mayoral election.

Well, we caught him in a lie at least once. His staff said that he couldn’t make it because he was out of town, then he was on TV that night in a photo op (go figure) that we confirmed in the newspaper was the same time as our event, which was scheduled 9 MONTHS in advance.

Fischer is a figurehead only. We all know Louisville’s only Mayor for life is still running things.

I’m sorry, but shit was just as fucked up when Abramson was in office. He was just real good at convincing the public it wasn’t. Fischer doesn’t seem to have that talent, if you want to call it that. A local newspaper has a story reporting that the bridge tolls won’t end when the debt is paid off. Instead, the tolls will continue forever and the revenue will go into a maintenance fund (LOL). Bill Summers was just appointed to the Bridges Authority. Tell me Abramson isn’t running anything.

Hayes is the highest paid State employee, but has some obscure title like Director of Tooth Decay Prevention or something equally misleading.
