I’m one of the only people who could feasibly get a story out and this is inexcusable. It’s at least the fifth time in as many weeks that Brosko has sent a media advisory at the worst possible time – after 5:00 P.M. on Friday.

I won’t even get into the whole Petsmart tripe.

Refusing money while they’re hurting financially. Turning away volunteers. Firing dedicated, caring employees. Lying to the press. Lying to the public. Obfuscating. Working under more secrecy than we knew was possible. Playing pat-a-cake on Facebook. Wasting money on a communications director who doesn’t bother communicating.

What a goddamn farce.

  1. Fischer said. “I’m going to do what’s right for the citizens, and it doesn’t matter who gives me money.” I hope this comes back to bite him in the ass like I pray every night that a dog from LMAS bites Fischy in the ass. He hasn’t done a single damn thing right since taking office. You would think someone in that collective circle of cluster-fucks would say ” hey if do this the right way, Jake and his websites will shut-up.” Nope those dumb-asses are too damn stupid. You can’t fix stupid. We are all screwed.

  2. Fischer & LMAS *HAVE* succeeded – in muzzling nearly all of the formerly outspoken critics of LMAS.
    Long live the ‘Ville Voice…

  3. Totalfailure – your comment will make me laugh at odd times for the next week, guaranteed.

    It’s already started.

And farce indeed…. 5pm on a Friday is so far out of the news cycle. At that point, the people of Louisville are getting off work and there’s a trafficked up bridge, car accidents, and some gun play that will be happenin’ and needing some coverage – not to mention most media types have sent their words to press or are already into their evening newscasts and assigned for the late news… that ain’t no time to put the word out about the pets.

I used to be a reporter then a producer then an executive producer so I will definitely vouch for that being a terrible time to send a release. Awful. Maybe a good time if you don’t want anyone to pay attention – say, if you’re cutting a bunch of jobs and don’t want to deal with a major news storm, then that might be smart.

  4. On West Wing, they addressed the Friday night press release in “Take Out the Trash Day”. A fine episode.

  5. Someone asked why the release was sent out on a Friday at 5 pm during Fischer’s virtual talk last night. Justin’s response was that there’s really no good/bad time to send a release. The communications manager should know that there is a good and bad time to send a release and 5 pm on a Friday is definitely bad.

  6. Dear Justin: Click here for information about the Friday news dump.

It’s the worst possible time to send a press release. Margaret knows it. You know it. Greg Fischer knows it.

    Total bullshit.
