Here’s the latest from Metro Animal Services, which is actually a good thing:
WHAT: CATastrophic Event
WHEN:
Saturday, November 26
Noon – 6 p.m.
Animal House Adoption Center
3516 Newburg RoadMORE:
Do you have the Black Friday Blues? If so, join us at Animal House Adoption Center for a CATastrophic event. All “black” cat adoptions are $5 plus the $9 license fee all day on Saturday. Adopters with approved applications from noon-2 p.m. will receive a bonus gift! The CATastophic event will continue through Saturday, December 3rd with $10 cat adoption fees plus the $9 license!
Is this a play on what will happen to these cats if they don’t get adopted? The name has got to be the biggest irony from LMAS this week. And that’s saying a lot.
But seriously – go adopt these cats. And adopt dogs, too. The black ones always get ignored and they’re the first to die at the hands of that heinous bitch who doesn’t bother vaccinating or treating animals when they’re at the intake point.

About 2 hrs. ago “Louisville Tails” (advocates & publication) excitedly posted a photo & “status” on Facebook, ecstatic over the new LMAS *sign!* I asked how many lives it would save; but I expect them to delete my comment.

I will echo what Jake said…Go adopt black cats and dogs. They have seriously lower chances of survival. Four of our eight dog rescues are black. And one of our (too many to count rescued cats) are black (just the way it has worked out).
And you can always foster, too. (Although I am an admitted foster failure – for those that don’t know what that is, it means that you end up adopting your fosters because you fall in love with them.)
If you simply can’t foster or adopt, donate money or supplies or time to your favorite rescue!

The good thing about the sign is that it will help adopters/the public (without GPS) find the entrance without driving by and trying again or giving up. And the old no access sign that was there when they moved in is gone. Clarity can’t hurt. : )

I mean… Really? That’s going to make things better?
A damn sign?
Just quit talking. Stop. Quit defending. You know good goddamn well you wouldn’t send your own pets to Metro Animal Services and that’s the end of this conversation.

P.S.
Yep. “Louisville Tails” deleted my “controversial” post about the usefulness of the spiffy new sign.
