  After eight and one half years of merged government, Louisville still hasn’t gotten it right and now Elizabethtown and Hardin County want to make the same mistake. Louisville can’t even run an animal shelter much less provide necessary city services like road repairs, governmental necessities, etc. Not to mention the financial mismanagement that has been a hallmark of the MSD, Metro Government, Jerry Abramson and now the new lackeys like Greg Fischer. Get ready Hardin County because you’re going to pay through the nose for having a merged government. Louisville is the exact reason of why you don’t want one. Yet somehow ex Mayor McCheese thinks that everyone should have one. Maybe its because he spent years dipping his hands into the money and that explains a lot of the 22 million dollar city debt.

  Merger broke this city financially. Every year since merger has seen a reduction in services and budget crisis after budget crisis. Even during the years when the national economy wasn’t in the shitter, Metro Government had difficulty paying the bills.

  Merger did one thing. It got Big Head Jerry his job back. Once he was back in he used the job to screw the city and its citizens for personal gain. Any two governments thinking about merger should think twice. It was a scam and it didn’t do anything positive for this community.

  Here’s another situation that PROVES that LIAR Abramson is a Crook…WTF!…why do people believe the shit that comes out of his mouth. Just another case where Jerry puts his own spin on what HE wants people to believe! All he’s just a P.O.S. polished speaker & sly lying salesman, that has the ability to convince some media to report it the way he wants. That conman will go down in history as one of bigest crooks in the history of this City! He is just an egomaniac, and he’s slick enough to fuck the whole State if he gets in.

  They believe the shit that comes out of his mouth because either one they don’t know any better or two they don’t have any common sense. Not to mention for most of the years he was mayor from 1985 to 1998 he had his own political shills and hand picked “rubber stamp” aldermen like George Melton and Bebe Melton that did pretty much what he wanted. The website http://www.abramsonuncovered.com talks about this sort of crap in detail. Its quite a good piece of citizen blogging back in 2002 and 2003 when it was started.

  Its amazing that the CJ and the local media never picked up on it. Because it has a treasure trove full of information regarding the crap that he had been pulling over everyone’s eyes since 1985. Not to mention back to 1977 when he was a city alderman.

  Yes, folks this crap goes back some thirty years for most of us who have lived here in this area for all those years. He’s been great at propagandizing the locals for that many years telling everyone pie in the sky estimates of job creation, tax revenues, etc. All the while putting his crooked hands into the cookie jar and stealing while his accomplices sat around in smoke filled back rooms and ran cover stories for him that way the local media wouldn’t eventually grow some balls and out him for his criminality.

  Which says a lot that he had so much pull to basically keep the dogs off from the local TV stations all those years. I wonder why they covered up for him all those years. Intimidation, government harassment against whistleblowers, etc?

  Instead of listening to me banter on about the crook, just go to that website and find out for yourself.

  Here’s another piece of info, Why hasn’t that Kentucky newspaper of record as it likes to sometimes call itself from West Broadway been all over the shenanigans of Jerry Abramson and the rest of these clowns. For being a mid sized metro area they’ve done a continually crappy job of reporting. Is it because the Binghams and the original owners of the Kentucky paper ran cover for first Harvey Sloane but then also Jerry Abramson.

  Another wonderful piece is the online book Land Machine by Gail Mellor who lived in St. Matthews when the book was published in 2003 online. I don’t know if it is still available but will have to look. Some quite interesting exposes of the local players in the land development schemes locally.

  Bill: You’re completely ‘on target.’ This guy, along with the ‘long-gone’ Kathy and Harvey, have taken a Louisville that was capable of competing with Indy, Nashville and Charlotte and allowed it to turn into a ‘college town.’ While those 3 cities, which had little to offer in 1973 – are now the leading cities of this region and recognized as global leaders in the 21st century.
