Since I have been stricken with some sort of hell bug (how’s barfing in a trash can at the airport strike ya? No Flagstaff for me this week!), here is some fancy time wasting stuff for you to help plan outings your kids will enjoy and that you can afford.
The holiday season is already upon us — because we always start early in the US and A, especially here in the pseudo Bible Belt — and the Louisville Science Center has a ton of events to enjoy. You can check them all out for yourself, but my favorite is “Lights…Energy…Elves!” – coming up on Saturday the 27th from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.
From the Center spokesperson: Attendees can see amazing gingerbread constructions and try it themselves by entering our Gingerbread Engineering Contest. Grand prize is 20 free IMAX passes, good for a year’s worth of IMAX films. Activities include a cool holiday science show featuring Elves Fa and La, testing freezing attributes of liquid nitrogen and exploring circuits and electricity. Science Center member tickets are $10 for children ages 2 to 12 and $4 for ages 13 to adult. Non-member tickets are $12 for children ages 2 to 12 and $6 for ages 13 to adult. Children under 2 are free. Tickets include the activities, a showing of The Light Before Christmas, and all-day exhibit admission to the Science Center.
See that? GINGERBREAD ENGINEERING CONTEST! Click here for more on that. And PLEASE share photos with me. If your work of art is, you know, gluten-free? I’d be happy to discuss the ways in which you may bribe me.
GINGERBREAD. Go do it. If you don’t have kids, I highly recommend you borrow some for this contest.
