In his latest television spot, Todd Lally attempts to blame John Yarmuth for job losses and unemployment. Because John is 100% responsible for everything wrong with this country, obviously.

After four years in congress he has had alot more to do with the “meltdown” than the Dems would admit. But then again that’s what progressives like…..spin spin spin………Free at birth, taxed till death. And after January, taxed after death.

What you’re saying is also spin.
Also, after January, John Yarmuth will continue to be your Congressperson if you live in the 3rd District.

And as my congressman I would hope he would ensure that the current tax level is maintained on all Americans, rich or poor. It is the American way. Equality.

Many Americans including wealthy individuals like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet support a progressive tax structure. Economic inequality has risen every year since the mid-70s. Most of the ultra wealthy receive the bulk of their income from capital gains which are taxed at 15%. Why should human capitol (labor and skills) be taxed at a different rate than capitol gains. Please don’t argue that people will stop investing if the capitol gains tax is raised because the data does not support that conclusion.

I am not a wealthy man and I expect that the tax increase will not affect me directly if the tax is on income of a million or more as John proposes. But I still do not believe in redistribution the progressive way. Inequality measured in dollars, or better yet, equality measured in dollars says in America your net worth is more important than your self-worth That is not America.
Unlike John and the progressive liberal far left, I cannot take from anyone anything I have not earned. And what I earn I redistribute gladly. Americans take care of their own, without forced wealth redistribution. It is the American way. Pride.

Billy T – you live in a very interesting world I would love to visit! :)
Seriously – your idea of even taxation is not the American way, never has been. It has been moving closer to that ever since the Reagan years, but if you go back to the foundations of our tax system they rested on progressive taxation. That is how we “take care of our own”.
