Check out this video of Louisville Tea Party leader Dan Blanchard on campaign finance:

Seems the Tea Partiers (or teabaggers, as I lovingly refer to them) have more in common with John Yarmuth than Peeping Todd.

You do realize that Yarmuth has received SIGNIFICANTLY more PAC money than Lally. Total PAC money for Yarmuth as of June 30, 2010 totals $522,025. Total PAC money for Lally in 2010 is less than $10,000.
Yup Yarmuth is really restoring campaign integrity. Guess that is why he received almost $100K from special interest health care groups in 2010 – including his own brother’s company.
Nahh. facts don’t matter when someone can make up a ludicrous video and put them on YouTube.

I guess that would explain why John voted against those health industry interests, right? And worked to create legislation that is not so great for their bottom line, right?
Nice logic fail.

Yarmuth wants unlimited campaign spending by unions.
It’s a great way to rig the elections–don’t allow businesses to donate money to candidates who like business (i.e. jobs) and instead promise union bosses whatever they want so they can be the only big donors.
Who would you rather have choosing the winners–unions or corporations? My vote is neither.
By the way, Todd Lally and the Louisville Tea Party disagree on a lot of things. The Tea Party is a grassroots, loosely organized movement united only by a desire for limited government. Most other topics are purely individual opinions.
And, Yarmuth’s legislation for his brother’s health care company DID help them. They get 80% of their revenue from Medicare, and over half of the legislation he’s sponsored or co-sponsored has been Medicare related.

Funny, because John Yarmuth has stated several times – during debates – that he supports campaign finance reform. Which would not mean “unlimited campaign spending by unions.” He’s been outspoken about the ridiculous amount of influence these groups have on elections.
The Tea Party is funded by the Koch Brothers on a national level. ANd many of its members MAY be grassroots – but that’s not the case for all of them. Certainly not the national bus groups or those affiliated with Freedom Works.
