Yesterday, Greg Fischer released some of the names of his “LEADERS” teams of advisers. In a release the previous day, the Fischer campaign indicated there were more than 350 people who made up those teams. But yesterday the campaign only released 252 of them.
So where are the rest?

Did you ever attempt to create a broad-based inclusive group to identify and address issues, generate ideas and propose solutions? When you cast your net wide and come up with 350 people there are going to be some that drop out, or find they cannot participate at a meaningful level. Should he have listed somebody who came to one meeting and hasn’t really been a part of it?
One would think you would commend this as a sign of inclusiveness.

No matter how you cut it, this whole thing leaves the impression that Fischer would have his decisions made by large committees.

Have to agree. Just wonder why they took so long to release the platform and the group. You’ve got some pretty progressive people normally shunned by the power elite included.

Mark: Moot argument.
Some of the names released are people who are supporting Hal Heiner. Many of them tell me they only went to one meeting and never heard from the campaign again. Two of them tell me they didn’t even go to a meeting.
And a bunch of those names are contributors who maxed out to the campaign. One of them, a physician, confirmed to me that they were invited to participate while being asked for a contribution.
He needs to release the rest of those names if he’s really someone who gives two flips about transparency.

I don’t recognize many of the names, but the ones I do recognize are good people that I would trust. If the ones I recognize actually had a hand in casting a vision for the future of Louisville, then that’s a good thing.
It might have been better if the list was by committee, and the position/company of the person was included. Otherwise, so far I think he deserves credit for trying to reach out and include lots of people.

I also know several people on the list and they have provided suggestions to both Fischer and Heiner. My instincts tell me that a much smaller group were actually involved in shaping the platform. I would like to see these by committee as Bruce suggests.

Several of the individuals on this list – and several who have yet to be named by the Fischer camp – tell me they’re not keen on being treated like a supporter of the campaign.
Of particular interest are people who sat in on Fischer’s geriatric/elderly group and the animal abuse group.

We were all given the option as to whether we wanted our names released. The Fischer campaign has not held any names back–individuals have. You are making a mountain out a molehill and we all know there are plenty of other controversial issues out there for you to sniff out. I was never asked for a contribution.

Kathleen: That’s just not true.
I personally know individuals who have never given permission for their names to be released – and they’ve been released. And I know people who made it clear they were okay with having their names released – and they have not been released.
No, this isn’t the only issue facing the city. It’s just one of hundreds that we’ve written about.

Oh, yeah, one guy I know on that list is irate – he did NOT give permission and in fact, has been supporting Heiner. A lot of “city” names on the list, they likely just want to be sure they still have a job come January. I’ve talked to GF twice now, guess I’m lucky I’m not on the list.

Gee, several are current Metro Employees = are they helping on Metro time? Or just answering questions poised by the campaign just as they would any other citizen that asked? I guess I am lucky they won’t return me calls or my name might be on the list.
