Six Kentucky schools – including one in Louisville – won 2010 Blue Ribbon Status. [Page One]
The police car dispute could continue into the next mayoral administration. Because Louisville’s leaders apparently don’t care about taking care of the folks who take care of them. [WFPL]
Remember when Greg Fischer’s Abramson spokesperson said everything Fischer campaign was doing was “brand new”? Turns out that’s not the case. [Ryan Alessi's Shadow]
There’s another school board meeting tonight where about 40 teabaggers will foam at the mouth. Don’t worry about getting any solid word in edgewise. [Just Saying]
This joint on Market Street could turn into something pretty cool. Progress Paint Company. At Market & Brook. [Broken Sidewalk]
No wonder Greg Fischer is turning people off. Did you read that “routine” bit in A Kentucky Newspaper? He says “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” had a profound influence on him. Can’t. Stop. The. Laughter. Oh. My. God. Hahahahaha. [What A Hot Mess]
Really, Oldham County bigots? This is the shiz you’re going to start pulling? [WHAS11]
The general election will take place in just 49 days. Will Hall Heiner beat Greg Fischer? Or are they both too out of touch? [FOX 41]
Kentucky Kingdom could reopen soon. But will Larry Clark be a reason it doesn’t? Interesting to see Ron Crimm have the right idea. Here’s betting his opponent couldn’t explain a bond issue if you asked her. [WAVE3]

Jake, disagreeing with the way the student assignment plan has been designed does not make you a teabagger. Granted there is a lot of “foaming at the mouth” going on in the comments of a certain Kentucky newspaper, but there are very serious ethical issues, especially in the elementary plan, related to young children. The current plan was designed by SB after he was given advice and a different model that would, hopefully, have worked better. This is most definitely not an either/or, but a need to design with the good of children in mind.

Where’d I say or infer that only teabaggers stand against the student assignment plan?
As I’ve reported on a number of occasions, the teabaggers stack the school board meetings lately. And they send out email blasts. Folks like Marilyn Parker and her crew go and yell and cause scenes. You’d have to be blind/deaf/mute/living in another city not to be aware of that.

Do you need a fresh cup of coffee this morning? You seem a mite touchy. I was only concerned because it (teabaggers) was your only comment about tonight’s meeting.Shall I deliver some chocolate ice cream? You know I think you are on the side of the angels.

Protip: You can’t discern tone of voice from text in a comment.
Ice cream = sugar & (probably) gluten = ugh.

Not if it’s made right–and I am an ice cream pro!

re: Fischer’s comments in the C-J. Could he possibly be any more bland and humorless?
I understand about not wanting to offend people but my god, man. Get a personality!
I’m a dem and had already decided to vote for Heiner.

hobbster, join the long gray line. How any self-respecting Dem can vote for him is beyond my comprehension.

And your evidence that someone FROM Oldham county committed that crime is…..?
You don’t like being painted with a broad brush, jake, I would appreciate the same consideration in return.

Hahaha. Are you people serious?
Hahahahaha.
Yeah, I’m sure it was just some random person from Chicago traveling by on the interstate who thought, “Oh, yeah, there’s a black family! Let’s go spray paint the shit out of their house for being black!”
10 Carter Burger // Sep 13, 2010 at 5:27 pm
If you have evidence that says otherwise, please present.

That shit’s always local.
Have you never been outside the confines of the expressway?

I’m not saying it is, I’m not saying it isn’t. I’m assuming you will publicly apologize to everyone you have smeared should it wind up being someone from Henry, Shelby or Jefferson county?
I have lived in Oldham county for 11 years and nothing like this has ever happened before. We have one incident and you want to judge all of Oldham county as being bigots.
I’m surprised with this coming from you considering how gay people also hate being painted with the same, broad brush.
13 jake // Sep 13, 2010 at 8:02 pm
No, I won’t apologize. And your feigned outrage is retarded.
You’re freaking out over nothing.
Don’t like it? Move along, don’t read it. Really simple.
14 jake // Sep 13, 2010 at 8:04 pm
Additionally, where did I call everyone in Oldham County bigots? I referred to the bigots in Oldham County guilty of this horse shit.
(But I was serious – if you can’t handle it, don’t read it.)

Any legitimate investigation would include checking to see if his attempt to sell his home might have something to do with this. Publicity sells. No offense to the gentleman whose home was violated, but it only makes sense to make sure it wasn’t done by the homeowner to help sell his house. Another possibility is that political activists opposed to the Tea Party did it to gin up outrage. We can all debate what likely happened, but to just assume that this was an act by racists until we know for sure is rather irresponsible.

Carter, don’t forget that Oldham County began really booming only in the late 70s when court-ordered busing started in Jefferson County. They called it the “white-flight” response.
Lisa, you’re even further out there in Paranoiaville this time than “normal.”
Self-inflicted racism so people would see his house on the news and want to buy it?
Really? Offense taken – and I’m not even black.
