According to folks in the know, Joe Elliott is moving to 970 WGTK.
Everyone’s excited for Monday, September 20 from Noon to 3:00 P.M.
Will Joe foam at the mouth like the rest of those folks or will he be a voice of reason that competes with Rush Limbaugh?
UPDATE: Joe will be on Bobby Jack today at 2:00 4:00 to discuss his departure from Clear Channel.

That last question is one of the funniest I have seen on the Ville Voice. Of course it will be a breath of fresh air for anyone that switches from 840 to 970. Best of luck to you Joe!

This is good news! 970 is still owned by Salem, right? If so, he might have a problem if he doesn’t follow corporate dictates that require right wing talking points only. They carefully screen their local hosts. Even more so than Clear Channel.

It will be nice to get another local talk show to compete with Mandy Connell, who seems far more interested in national issues.
Tough slot, but I certainly think he can bring in better local numbers than Dennis Miller. Hopefully those numbers will beat the cheap cost of running a syndicated show.
Joe is too good to be a fill-in guy.

Thank God! A sane person on local talk radio! I missed hearing Joe’s take on issues and can’t risk even tuning to 840 to see if he might be filling in for someone. What CC has done to WHAS borders on the criminal…
