The only reason they are needing tolls for this project is for corrupt political purposes so someone can skim the money off the top and make millions. Its a classic Mayor Jerry Abramson ploy to get people to spend the money and then rake off the top kind of like how a dairy rakes off the cream.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky has failed the citizens of this state for generations and its because they are corrupt and keep corrupt good old boy politicians in power to keep the people at bay with their nonsense. Just like the whole opposition to gambling being the problem, keep each other at our throats so we can fight amongst ourselves.

They don't have the money because its been wasted or spent somewhere else or someone is stealing. Indiana has had its share of the money for bridges for years but had to wait for KY to get its act together. Now that the money isn't still there, KY has to bring up the toll issue. All because this state has been incompetent at job creation and creating decent schools that would get employers to come here. Not to mention the school issue and economic issue translates into less money for the state. Indiana only has 1.5 million more residents yet can finance their part of this. Why hasn't Kentucky been planning for this eventuality all along knowing that the bridges need to be built and it was part of the original interstate plan when the loops were built. Same goes for the mess that is called Spaghetti Junction which was built with 1960s thinking and not planned for future usage. Its all a mess and the people of this region are going to pay for it. But for 3 dollar tolls, no way, what a ridiculous concept.

Heiner and Green will get many Democratic votes from Downtown, Old Louisville, Crescent Hill and The Highlands. If Heiner would take a little stronger stand on this issue he would get many more of the votes, which would certainly mean victory for him.

In 1961 the Democratic Party leaders and the C-J forced its anointed, W S Milburn, on the party instead of selecting Jimmy Queenan, who had strong popular support but narrowly lost the primary. As a result the Republicans won for the first time in 28 years...and that was the city which was a tougher win than the county. Now we are dealing with the entire county, which has many more Republicans. If Fischer remains so out of touch it will be Mayor Heiner in 2011.

Hal Heiner is on track the position I support.
Finance and build the East End first with little or no tolling. This is the only track that makes sense. Everyone else is just playing River Fields games to delay the project further.
