What Is It With The C-J’s Silly Attacks?

May 12th, 2010 by jake · 5 Comments

Yesterday Broken Sidewalk had a story about ear X-tacy potentially moving to Douglass Loop.

Louisville.com jumped on the story, calling it reckless.

The Courier-Journal attacked – though the paper has since updated its own coverage. Going so far in their attack as to say this on Twitter:

And blammo. Whattya know? Turns out Broken Sidewalk was spot-on. While the C-J, Louisville.com and the C-J’s Tweeter were all going on some silly attack spree.

What the shiz, folks?

It’s like our once great newspaper really has fallen apart and can’t deal with the competition us internet nerds throw here and there. Wow.

Guess when lightning struck the CJ more than just a press went out. Looks like some reporters were close to the strike. Of course the real lightning strike was over 20 years ago.

Bill Lamb will have another “point of view” subject, since he came to VilleVoice to get material for his protection of the CJ in his Point of view after the Derby Sunday edition fiasco.

Actually, the C-J seems to have developed a severe case of paranoia or “man-opause.” They have DELETED many forum comments that were made to their articles over the past few days, including most that were made early this morning. Seems they have suddenly grown a conscience about just WHO has First Amendment rights, especially regarding the ability to be critical of local educational institutions.

The C-J isn’t owned by the public, so First Amendment doesn’t really apply. Only alleged journalistic standards.

That said – you’re spot-on about what’s occurring these days.
