coincidentally, i was with a few friends at patrick’s the other night, late. republican candidate, patrick duerr, who had awkwardly (and kinda of creepily) introduced himself to us earlier, was sitting next to us at the bar, when he asked the bartender (he apparently knew him) to lock the doors so that he could smoke. the bartender did, and duerr fired up his cig. and smoked away. nice.

Interesting. So it’s government’s responsibility to keep people from smoking or eating Trans Fats? Tina has a lot to be worried about. She will be facing, for the first time, a credible candidate in the general election. From what I’ve seen, she isn’t liked by many Democrats and she sure has not been a friend to the small business person. Ask the Todd Hollenbach supporters. They want her out. Remember she only beat Hollenbach by a few hundred votes. If these Democrats vote for the Republican candidate, she’s gone. It will happen.

It’s government’s responsibility to make sure I don’t have to breathe your nasty, white trash cigarette smoke when I’m in a public place or restaurant that’s open to the general public without a membership.
Trans fats? Who cares. Doesn’t cause me to develop a disease if your fat ass wants to consume them. Have at it.
Duerr is credible? Ever met the dude? Not happening.
Todd Hollenbach? The guy tightly affiliated with bigot Frank Simon via his wife, Rosemary and her father? Todd Hollenbach, the guy who spends his days on the golf course instead of in Frankfort? Todd Hollenbach, the guy who wasted $20 million in office this year? Yeah, that dog will totally hunt. Haha. Todd Hollenbach. hahahahaha.
This is one of the gayest, most liberal districts in the city. It’s not voting for a bigoted Republican.

Harsh words . . . “bigoted”. I can see now why you run a blog. The hate you perpetrate is quit ammousing, Jake. Your kind of thinking is exactly what this City doesn’t need. I’ve met Mr. Duerr a couple of times and I also met Mr. Jaggers. Throwing words around like “Bigoted” does not seem accurately discribe either of these two men. You can hide behind your blog and spew hate but at least these two men have the courage to take on fools like you. – I’m sure you won’t post this because it may mess up your mojo!

Yes, Frank Simon is a bigot. Wanna try proving that he’s not?
I love when it concern trolls accuse me of being a hatemonger when I point out what an anti-gay hater Frank Simon is. Or what an anti-gay hater Todd Hollenbach is.
6 Bullmarket // May 11, 2010 at 11:41 am
It’s my understanding the Frank Simon is not running for the 9th Louisville Metro Council so when you say “It’s (wrong vernacular) not voting for a bigoted republican” one can only assume you are speaking about the current candidates. Formulate an accurate argument and maybe one day you might be taken seriously. The more that you write the better the your oppositions looks. So keep on writing Jake!

You said Todd Hollbenbach’s supporters don’t want Tina in office. Todd Hollenbach’s supporters = Frank Simon’s people.
And if they’re going to vote for a Republican? Then I’m pretty sure they’re voting in-line with Frank’s homophobic bigotry.
8 jake // May 11, 2010 at 12:05 pm
P.S. If I don’t matter, why are you wasting your time by repeatedly commenting?
9 Steve Magruder // May 11, 2010 at 12:15 pm
“ammousing”? Wow.
10 Bullmarket // May 11, 2010 at 12:20 pm
It’s much like sharpening a knife. Arguments and debates require polar opposition at times. You seem to fit the mold today.
When you make an argument like Hollenbach Democratic supporters + Frank Simon = bigotry you therefore are saying all Hallenbach Democrats are bigots. Take a Philosophy 101 course sometime. Your logic does not work. Therefore since you are unable to make a logical argument, I make the argument that your are not logical and therefore irrelevant to the political conversation.
11 Roger // May 11, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Logic aside BM, your phraseology could use a little work. That last paragraph was like a Gurley Martin screed.
12 jake // May 11, 2010 at 1:38 pm
Hell fucking yesssss Todd Hollenbach + Frank Simon = bigotry.
Todd has repeatedly refused to denounce his endorsement. I’ve written about it time and again.
Yeah, if a Democrat supports Todd Hollenbach, they support bigotry.

You seem to spend an inordinate amount of space dwelling on homophobia. Curious.
14 jake // May 11, 2010 at 7:57 pm
Are suggesting that I may be one of those HOMOSEXUALS???
15 Bullmarket // May 11, 2010 at 11:04 pm
Jake for someone that claims supports gay rights you seem offended by possibly being labeled as one. You are such a fool. It’s time to shut down your hateful site. Post or don’t post this message makes no difference. You are irrelevant.
16 jake // May 11, 2010 at 11:17 pm
It’s called sarcasm, John.
I love love love it when concern trolls don’t realize that I’m a big old gay.
I’m so irrelevant you have taken tons of time out of your day – to go out of your way – commenting on this site, right? Next thing I know, you’ll be doing the same on Page One, right?

Jake, re your vitriolic defense of govt. “p.c.” interference:
“I don’t have to breathe your nasty, white trash cigarette smoke when I’m in a public place or restaurant that’s open to the general public without a membership.”
The anti-smoking law doesn’t allow individual business owners to choose a policy that they deem appropriate, NOR are any “clubs” allowed to permit smoking – unless they have no employees & no customers. So – “membership” doesn’t cut it. The single, one-&-only exemption to no-smoking indoors is a tobacco manufacturing/testing facility, only one of such existed when the ordinance was tightened up for the umpteenth time. And it, too, may have abandoned Louisville by now.
**Your attitude toward tobacco users is amazingly close to the bigotry that homophobes have toward Gays.**
18 jake // May 12, 2010 at 7:50 am
My point is that facilities that are not open to the general public – as I said – can allow smoking. There are several private organizations that don’t have employees or customers that allow smoking in Louisville.
Comparing homophobia to being anti-smoking? Hahaha. Really?
I forgot – everybody thinks they have some fancy smoking rights. I guess you do have the right to blow your carcinogenic fumes in my face. Standing against discrimination and bigotry is obviously the same as being against smoking. Clearly the same.
