We’ve repeatedly discussed Greg Fischer’s claim that he co-invented and then invented an ice machine. (Note: Click here for more information about Fischer’s false claim that he was Inc. Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 1990. And here for photographic evidence and here for even more proof.)
He loves talking about it at forums, like at the Downtown Development District:

On March 30 we discussed patents and the actual inventor. You’re free to read about it.
And on April 9 we delved into lawsuits surrounding the company. Those suits uncovered the reality that Greg not only was not the inventor of the device but he didn’t found the company– his father bought it.
So I just want to rehash his two versions of the ice machine story, with video:

Greg is quick to spin this story – and I know he’s personally burned by me harping on it – but there’s no reason someone as astute as him shouldn’t be able to be up front about this. He has repeatedly lied to me (detailed on numerous occasions) and coordinated with corrupt good old boys (Larry Clark) he declared he would 100% disavow. Unfortunately, he and his campaign staff have decided to repeatedly attack me personally. Because if you attack the messenger instead of the message, you may be able to shut them up.
Greg Fischer is a candidate running for public office so that’s why I’m focusing on him. And I’m letting him speak for himself.
Stick around. In about two hours we’ll have another story that goes deeper into Greg Fischer’s ice machine story(s) and his infamous award. You won’t believe it. Or maybe you will.

Just beautiful that they can’t defend their position any better. But you should expect that out of people that don’t want to talk about the facts.

Fischer’s opponents are letting him completely off the hook on this increasingly incredible falsehood. As a matter of fact, I’m beginning to wonder whether Fischer has the mental makeup to be the Mayor of Louisville. Someone this divorced from reality is a dangerous commodity in the Mayor’s Office.
