Vogt Achievement Scholarship Winners Announced

Yesterday JCPS announced the names of 20 seniors who won 2010 Vogt Achievement Scholarships. Henry V. Heuser Sr started the fund in 1999 with an endowment to provide $10,000 college scholarships to outstanding JCPS students. $1.7 million+ has been awarded to 170 students in the last 11 years.

Winners are selected based on SAT/ACT scores and cumulative grade point averages. Demonstrated community and campus leadership – along with recommendations – also get consideration.

  • Walisha Bland, Central High School Magnet Career Academy
  • Jacob Case, Doss High School

  • Teal Wigginton, Eastern High School
  • Tessa O’Keefe, Fairdale High School
  • Kaitlyn Mattingly, Fern Creek Traditional High School
  • Chelsea Mouser, Jeffersontown High School
  • MaryKate Fitzpatrick, Louisville Male High School
  • Amy Miller, Moore Traditional School
  • Addie Rosenberger, Pleasure Ridge Park High School
  • Spencer Scruggs, Seneca High School
  • Joshua Trego, The Academy @ Shawnee
  • Carrie Reidy, South Park Teenage Parent Program
  • Whitney Andrews, Southern High School
  • Morgan Hunter, Waggener Traditional High School
