Some folks running for mayor and some others working for Jerry Abramson say crime isn’t an issue in Louisville. But some people, like Metro Councilcritter Dan Johnson, get it. He’s allocating $10,000 to assist LMPD Divisions 3, 4 and 6 in an effort to combat a recent flurry of thefts in Beechmonth and Iroquois. From the press release: “We have found that extra funding is needed to allow officers to get a handle on problem areas when crime increases from time to time,” said Johnson. “This funding will allow more officers overtime to patrol some areas where we have seen a recent increase of thefts and break-ins.” [Press Release]
