Dear David Tandy: What’s up with your campaign compiling hundreds (thousands?) of email addresses and consistently spamming them – without permission, despite dozens of unsubscription requests?
Several people from different groups and organizations have contacted me over the last few weeks to complain. From the Kentucky Democratic Party to members of a local civil rights organization. The latest group? More than a dozen individuals that have nothing in common… aside from being members of the Louisville Ad Federation.
Not exactly the group of people you want to tick off when you’re an underdog. So don’t pull a Greg Fischer. You need to fix this mess.

I was wondering what in the world was going on. Both my address and B’s address got mail from the Tandy campaign and we had to unsubscribe despite NEVER subscribing in the first place. I’m really curious what list they poached our addresses from. When it was just me I didn’t think anything of it because my address is everywhere but B doesn’t subscribe to many things.
Curious. And tacky.

I was on Obama’s Kentucky list, NEVER signed up for anything from Tandy, and still get his emails….

I am on Shannon Whites and it will not let me unsubscribe. It tells me that it can not locate the email address I have entered. Pisses me off.

Ditto all that. I’m getting the Tandy emails– sometimes several a day– at my personal, non-”Lou” email address. Definitely didn’t subscribe. And I rarely use that address for anything except personal emails… except I did use it to sign up for Obama campaign emails. Is that how they got my address?

Of course that’s how they got your address.
Tandy, his wife and their close pal, former Metro Council Democratic Caucus Director, Kenya, all probably worked together to upload the Obama Kentucky list. Which is all kinds of illegal.
Every campaign is doing the same damn thing.

Not every campaign is doing it, unless I am mistaken. I haven’t received any emails from Tyler Allen or Greg Fischer (yet).

I’ve written about the Fischer Campaign doing this same thing on several occasions. And they just continue doing it.
Tyler’s candidacy is so inconsequential they barely send email to folks who signed up to receive communications.

Report them, every time, to the “spam police.” see http://www.ftc.gov/spam/

The big issue isn’t the spam, but the campaign finance violation.
