Republican candidate for mayor, Hal Heiner, released a 12-point plan for creating jobs in Louisville. Here are the highlights, per a release from his campaign:
- Mayor who serves as the chief economic development officer
- Establish a Blue Ribbon Commission to prepare a new jobs strategy
- Create a “closing fund” to close deals for Louisville
- Establish a pro-investment culture in metro government
- Attract and retain industry through strategic infrastructure investments
- Establish an urban coalition to advocate in Frankfort
- Hone workforce development to train and educate Louisville’s workforce.
- Promote small business and empower innovation
- Strengthen local vendor preferences
- New collaboration with the University of Louisville
- Promote tourism and hospitality: finish Fourth Street
- Open, transparent and accountable government

It’s not overly extensive but seems to accomplish more with six pages than David Tandy did with 30.
