February 2nd, 2010 by jake · No Comments

Republican candidate for mayor, Hal Heiner, released a 12-point plan for creating jobs in Louisville. Here are the highlights, per a release from his campaign:

  • Mayor who serves as the chief economic development officer
  • Establish a Blue Ribbon Commission to prepare a new jobs strategy
  • Create a “closing fund” to close deals for Louisville
  • Establish a pro-investment culture in metro government
  • Attract and retain industry through strategic infrastructure investments
  • Establish an urban coalition to advocate in Frankfort
  • Hone workforce development to train and educate Louisville’s workforce.
  • Promote small business and empower innovation
  • Strengthen local vendor preferences
  • New collaboration with the University of Louisville
  • Promote tourism and hospitality: finish Fourth Street
  • Open, transparent and accountable government

It’s not overly extensive but seems to accomplish more with six pages than David Tandy did with 30.
