They Can’t Take Campaign Finance Seriously

January 13th, 2010 by jake · No Comments

Jesus. Why do we have to repeat 2008?

Apparently Greg Fischer doesn’t realize that in Kentucky you have to register with the state as a fundraiser if you plan to directly raise more than $3K for a candidate?

KRS 121.170(2) – Any person who acts as a fundraiser by directly soliciting contributions for an election campaign of a candidate or slate of candidates for statewide-elected state office or an office in a jurisdiction containing in excess of two hundred thousand (200,000) residents shall register with the registry when he raises in excess of three thousand ($3,000) in any one (1) election for the campaign committee by filing official notice giving his name, address, occupation, employer or, if he is self-employed, the name under which he is doing business, and all candidates or slates of candidates for whom he is soliciting on forms prescribed by the registry. A registered fundraiser shall comply with the campaign finance reporting requirements of KRS 121.180(3), (4), and (5).

Maybe the Fischer Campaign should think before promoting something like these personal fundraising pages, which it did yesterday?

Just a thought.

Oh, and Greg? Keep taking it upon yourself to trash me to reporters. I’m obviously the most important factor in this mayoral race and the most important issue facing our great city. Greatly appreciate it.

You should also probably stop telling folks you got more votes in Jefferson County than any previous statewide Democratic primary candidate in Kentucky history. Pretty sure you got 12,000 fewer than Bruce Lunsford did in 2008.
