Crit Luallen’s audit of the Kentucky League of Cities is absolutely damning. Surprising reactions and non-reactions from Jerry Abramson and Jim Newberry, who are directly responsible for this scandal. Unbelievable expenditures (strip clubs are included!), details of an harassment investigation that was kept top-secret and more. Read it all. [Page One]
Another thorn in Jefferson County Public Schools’ side: hiring policy found to discriminate. [C-J]
Nice how Jerry Abramson just brushes aside the Sylvia Lovely-Kentucky League Cities scandal like it was nothing. The same goes for David Tandy, who is also a KLC board member. What hacks. [WFPL]
Governor Steve Beshear and Mayor Jerry Abramson will hold a press conference today at 10:00 A.M. with an announcement regarding funding for the Ohio River Bridges project. The shindig will take place at the Muhammad Ali Center. Then at 10:45 Beshear will make a Toys for Tots delivery at the fire station on North Spring Street. After that, it’s off to Carroll County Middle School for an early childhood development announcement with at noon with Judge-Executive Shorty Tomlinson. Ah, the regular Friday news dump preparation. Is Bill Weyland the magic man? He’s got plans to build a fancy hotel (okay, so it’s just a Holiday Inn Express) and parking garage across from Glassworks. [Sheldon Shafer]
Woops. Rand Paul’s spokesman was forced to quit his job last night. [Page One]
You better watch yourself in NuLu. There are actual chickens on the streets policing things. [Broken Sidewalk]
I may give Lexington crap because that city has one of the world’s worst mayors (second only to Jerry “Cordish” Abramson), but at least that city has a newspaper that exists in the reality-based community. And its editorial board doesn’t cave to advertising pressure, isn’t afraid to lose sports tickets and doesn’t mince words. Especially not when it comes to holding elected officials accountable. Just wait until Tandy and Abramson’s opponents make use of their “leadership” as directors of this cesspool.

I can hear all the “Bla,Bla,Bla” now!….they will talk about how it”s everyones fault but theirs, caus why would the taxpayers Expect them to be doing whats expected of them ? Like paying attention to what’s going on….if they were serving their positions on a board that was a public company , they would be getting indited!
