By now we all know that Greg Fischer just can’t bring himself to stop repeating the lie that he’s the leading fundraiser in the mayoral campaign. He’s not. Read the facts for yourself.
But check out this email blast his campaign sent out on December 8:
I want to share with you a quick, 90-second campaign video update that highlights the momentum our campaign has received since we publicly kicked off the campaign on October 31st. By all indications, we are winning this race, leading the field in both fundraising and endorsements. We recently received more good news when the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers endorsed our campaign. The IBEW’s endorsement is significant as they represent more than 4,900 active and retired members in the Louisville area, bringing our total number of organized Labor supporters to more than 20,000.

December 31st marks the critical filing deadline to report how much money each campaign raised in the fourth quarter. We need your help to raise $10,000 online in the next 10 days so we can enter 2010 as the leading campaign with the most momentum.
It is imperative that we raise more money than our opponents and go into 2010 as the prohibitive frontrunner in this race. Your contribution is a vital investment in the city’s future as I will work every day to create the jobs that will get our economy back on track and make Louisville a vibrant, growing city.
Yup. Once again repeating the lie that he’s the leading campaign finance pack. And he’s doing it knowingly.
Take a look at this screenshot from his video as evidence:

See that? “MOST MONEY REPORTED” – meaning he didn’t raise the most money. The funds reported included an influx of his own cash, as I told you in October– he raised $10,000 less than his main opponent.
I like Greg. But if he’s going to continually repeat something dishonest and factually incorrect like this, what else is he going to do? Surely Greg’s campaign can find something positive to tout that isn’t fictional. Hopefully we aren’t seeing a repeat of 2008.
It’s like David Tandy flip-flopping on Swift and Jim King originally trying to keep public records private. Uncalled for amateur hour behavior.
Anyway, here’s a video included in the email blast:

My favorite bit is Denise “Put him in his place!” Harper Angel. But that’s only because she still hasn’t figured out that my name is “Jake” and not “Jack.”
