The only thing that David Tandy and President Obama have in common is that Barack Obama is half-black and David Tandy's candidacy is half-baked.

"He has been a strong voice for change, he has stood up for working families and has offered common sense solutions to the problems we face. "

are those your "progressive" credentials? sounds like any other campaign collection of empty keystrokes, Democrat or republican, Progressive or teabag.

Progressives are most concerned right now about ending the two wars we are fighting, health-care reform (single-payer!!) and protecting a woman's right to choose from a furious and renewed assault by the right wing. come out in support of the Progressive agenda and I'll believe you are a Progressive.

I think David Tandy is going to discover a lot of what he thinks is his base slipping away from him.

The Barack Obama in this race is Tyler Allen. That's because Obama wasn't about being black, he was about being bold, smart and competent.

David Tandy probably thinks because he has demonstrated some leadership ability by his quick decision making. I'm sorry, but expedience is not leadership. Not thinking through very serious issues of the day (bridges project, Swift/Butchertown matter, and more) is what is going to sink him.

I think it's much more simple than race.

David thinks he's a leader just because he says he is.

On election night 2008 (general election, when he started turning into an empty suit), he told me on-air that he was a lot like Barack Obama because he was married and had two kids. Mike Petchenik looked at David like he had a worm crawling out of his nose. Everyone standing in the circle - including the photogs - nearly shat themselves with laughter.

At that moment, David began spinning and started trying to turn himself into a political star. He told me off-camera but not off-the-record that night that he was running for mayor. He also promised me he'd never run from issues and wouldn't side step questions. I believe others overheard that conversation, as well.

Was just mind-blowing that such a promising leader seemingly in an instant morphed himself into do-nothing, say-nothing, empty suit.

He may be trying - I have no proof - to hitch his wagon on the race card. But I've yet to see him address a West End issue in this mayoral race, I've yet to see him take major public stances on anything and I haven't met too many people from the West End who consider him a viable leader at the present time. (Most don't know who he is)

GOT to be kidding me?....the inferance that Tandy is anything like the President is a cheap shot of Tandy attempting to say,"Black President"....so lets Louisville have a "Black Mayor"....

Why would Louisville want a non-commital, flip-flop, wishy-washy Mayor like Tandy?...Even if being Black makes him racially fashionable?
