UofL Faculty Members Win Fulbright Grants

December 9th, 2009 by jake · 1 Comment

This is kind of old news, but it’s worth bringing up again because it’s proof good things do happen at the University of Louisville.

Three UofL faculty members have received Fulbright Scholar grants to lecture and do research in other countries during the 2010 spring semester.

  • Susan Griffin – Justus Bier professor of humanities and English dept. chair – will lecture about reconfiguration of American literature at the University of Ghent in Belgium
  • Geetha Suresh – asst. professor of justice administration – will lecture about criminal justice and conduct research on domestic violence and the sex trade while at the Y.R. Gaitonde Center for AIDS Research and Education in Chennai, India
  • Daya Sandhu – professor educational and counseling psychology – will research the effects of cross-cultural word views and coping response styles on suicidal thoughts at the Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, India

Something we can all be proud of. Congratulations to Griffin, Suresh and Sandhu.

    “A Salute to UofL–For a Change”

Thanks, Jake, for mentioning the Fulbright recipients. When UofL does well, we should indeed recognize its accomplishments.
I’m glad to join you in doing so here.
