Chief, it would be just fine for King to reference his graduation from St. X in his bio. It’s another thing to use their logo in his advertising. I drive a Ford and I bet Ford Motor Company would sue me if i used their blue oval in a manner that indicated that FOMOCO endorsed my campaign.

The Saint X logo is a distinctive trademark. The school is identified by it. What if one of my fellow alumni opened up a strip joint and sent flyers out that featured the distinctive cross in the X logo and invited alumni to stop in for a cold beer and a hot time? Would St X. have a beef with him? What’s the difference?

Sorry Chief, but I disagree. I’m alumni of St. X, and UK and UofL and I don’t believe that makes me instant fodder for ANY politician’s campaign mailing machine. I agree that St. X should have had tighter control over their registry, but this is dirty pool and it’s done nothing but turn me off as a prospective King supporter. St. X’s response is far from uncalled for.

At what point do the “oops I didn’t know what I was doing” excuses run out?

Let’s see:

He didn’t know he could “loan” Katie money

He didn’t know the shakedown letter to the Firefighters was inappropriate

He didn’t mean to send out hi St. X fund raising blast for the whole Alumni list

Is it coincidence that none of his “omissions” hasn’t fallen into the King’s benefit? When you make mistakes and they always fall into your favor, they’re not mistakes.

Thieneman and King are the only ones who understand business??? WTF? Fischer and Heiner both have run successful companies. I’m tired of the “King is being picked on” garbage, King continually creates his own problems by breaching ethics and trying to buy off everyone in town. He’s made his own bed with most of this stuff.

I gotta say that King is being picked on Here!…WTF!….He is a son of ST. X. just like anyone who graduated from the school, I’d say that earns him the right to access that list as an Alumni?….Not to mention he’s most likely made contributions to the school over the years like many of us that went to St.X or Trinity….Why the school would be so HARSH and over reactive is stupid .
I’m NOT a big supporter of King, but in the sense of Fairness, the Courier and the other media should be keeping that close an eye on the incumbent KnuckleHead that is Mayor and let these canidates have at least 60 days to get some info out!
King is no Saint, but at least he and Chris Theineman are the only two who understand business!….The ST. X response was uncalled for!

If anyone honestly believes that they really didn’t intentionally send that email to every single address in the alumni directory, then I have a bridge in the east end of Jefferson county I’d like to sell you.
