More on Hotel Homeless/Louisville

November 12th, 2009 by jake · 3 Comments

WHAS11′s Gene Kang (Was Chase banned by Nina?) has more on the Hotel Louisville/Wayside Christian Mission homeless shelter:

Not sure who on earth would spend $129 per night to stay there when you could stay at a posh downtown hotel for less than half that.

But at least the homeless have a place to stay for 30 cents per month.

I so applaud this ingenious idea! Maybe the Abramson administration hasn’t noticed that the weather is getting colder, but this brave & creative woman has, and I love the way she’s found a way to do what’s most important: help the folks who need it and fill out the paperwork later.

Now, that’s what I call a ‘change agent’!

It may be ingenious, but she’s playing a very dangerous game if hasn’t thought out all of the ramifications.

I really hope she is getting some good legal and business advice from her Board. Providing shelter to these families may be important, but if she’s not careful, she may jeopardize the entire charity.

I hope paperwork is the only thing she hasn’t taken into account. She may very well be creative Eden and have her heart in the right place, but I’m afraid she is equally foolish and not fully aware of risks she may be exposing herself and the charity to through her actions.

Would just note that Nina Moseley is a practicing lawyer, so I suspect she has a pretty good idea of the law. To wait two months for a response to a letter from a board is ridiculous. Good for Nina!
