Kentucky First Lady Jane Beshear will speak this evening during the First Lady’s Rception at the National Summit to End Domestic Violence. And it’s tall taking place in Louisville.
Beshear will be joined by West Virginia First Lady Gayle Manchin and Former Kentucky First Lady Judy Patton tonight at 6:00 P.M. at the Seelbach Hilton downtown.
The summit, an event organized by the Mary Byron Project, runs through tomorrow and is billed as a new discussion about new ideas and ways of looking at the problem of domestic violence. The event’s website says, “It will be a unique experience and, with your help, it will provide the genesis for finding solutions so that the next generation is not afflicted with carrying the cost of this heinous crime.”
We certainly give the First Lady’s husband quite a difficult time and obviously believe he’s let Kentucky down. But there’s just no denying that Jane Beshear is an asset to the Commonwealth. Bringing public attention to domestic violence is just one of many of our First Lady’s good deeds. And it’s coming fresh off the heels of her involvement with the Shop & Share Day benefiting the Kentucky Domestic Violence Association. So if you’re at the Seelbach tonight? Pass along some praise and give thanks.
