The University of Louisville’s Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium will host a telescope workshop and stargazing program on November 7. 7:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. $7 adults, $5 children under 12. $13/$9 for those who want to attend both. Free for planetarium members. [UofL Planetarium]

The captain of the Belle of Louisville refused to allow rescue crews on board after the October 17th accident. The captain said concerns about being pushed further into a dry dock fueled his reaction. [C-J]

Allan McDonald will speak at the Planetarium at 7:30 P.M. He’s set to describe the sequence of events and discussions held the night before the launch and the horror of watching the shuttle disintegrate shortly after launch.
