86-Year-Old WWII Vet on Equality

October 21st, 2009 by jake · 3 Comments

In honor of Fairness’ tenth anniversary, check out what this WWII veteran had to say about marriage equality:

“A woman at my polling plaits asked me, ‘Do you believe in equality for gay and lesbian people?’ I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. Finally, I asked her, ‘What do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach?”

Indeed.

“A Symbol of What America Ought to Be”

Nicholas, you are so right. The WWII vet represents the real ideal U.S. in action. A country where there is equal rights for all and the opportunity for all to pursue happiness.
