On November 6th and 7th at the University of Louisville, the tenth annual Healthy Foods, Local Farms Conference will take place. It’s your chance to learn about getting back to your roots – an act that’s more important than most of us realize.
A Harvest Tasting and Pre-Celebration on Friday, Nov 6th & 6:00 P.M. (Rathskellar at the Seelbach) is $35 and will feature local chefs and farmers. From 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. that day: Supporting School Gardens will provide tours and workshops on UofL’s Belknap Campus. Includes lunch and is free, but you’ve gotta register.
Saturday’s conference will include speakers like Wendell Berry, Sam Levin, Josh Viertel, Nicolette Han Niman, Augusta Holland and more (to be announced soon). Augusta’s husband Gill is also set to moderate a panel discussion. Registration for Saturday is $40 and includes meals, snacks and conference materials.
All food will be locally and sustainably grown, antibiotic and hormone free.
