David Hawpe getting sacked would be a bubbly-popping kind of event for many of us in Louisville!

Mayor Jer's Chief Stenographer and the Rotting Head of the Mayor Jer Protectorate has no credibility left anyway -- he may as well go.

His juvenile rants about various politicians won't be missed either.

In regards to Dec. 21, 2012 being the "end of the world." I wish people would stop mentioning this. Dec. 21st is my anniversary, and I know that if I ever forget it, it will be "the end of the world" for me, just as it would be for most of you. I have yet to forget my anniversary, and I don't plan on forgetting it in 2012. :-)

So if the world DOES end that day, feel free to blame me.

What a relief to know that I can plan for the world to end.

Just when I thought I should start saving for retirement and increasing my activism against global warming, mountaintop removal, etc., I learn that we'll all expire on Dec. 12, 2012.

What a relief. I can refuse to pay taxes, cash in my condo and gleefully squander the proceeds.

Only during sweeps would crap such as doomsday predictions be permitted to pass as news.

They scare the bejesus out of kids surfing the 'net and prompt parents to send "hate mail" to the crackpots who promote the silly myth that we're all going to die in two-and-a-half years.

Shame on WHAS-TV for giving these fearmongers a megaphone.

The demise of the world and humankind will happen slowly and painfully, largely because of the proliferation of idiots and idiocy -- and because of the misconduct of stupid or greedy gatekeepers.

See "Idiocracy."

The Julie Denton story amazes me on two levels -- one, that she couldn't see the obvious conflict of interest herself, and asked the Ethics Commission about it;

and two, that the Ethics Commission actually okayed it!

If she needs the work, then take the job and quit the committee. Simple. Or, if you really want to stay on the committee, then don't take the job.

I'd throw out IOKIYAR, but there are plenty of examples from both sides of the aisle. Apparently, conflicts of interest aren't covered in Legislator Onboarding.

The word in Cincinnati is the Enquirer could have about 100 peopleaffected by today's announcement.

And that 2012 hoax has been around for years. Hell, half of the History Channel's programming focuses on it.
