The University of Louisville’s College of Education and Human Development, rocked a year ago by the Robert Felner scandal, has put the episode in the rear-view mirror and is showing increased enrollment, according to the school. Thanks to WFPL’s Gabe Bullard, who covered today’s press conference.
The school’s interim dean, Blake Haselton, said changes in policies and procedures since the Felner incident have enabled the school to improve grant management and faculty griveance procedures. The school even recovered more than $90,000 from a grant that Felner mismanaged.
That money is being used by the College, along with Jefferson County Public Schools, to study teacher performance and effectiveness in local public schools.
Felner’s case isn’t over, but for now U of L is saying it’s ready to move on.
