I hate to correct you both, but it was actually his heating register hidden under the carpet that spoke. I'm sure is was lovely plush pile carpeting to boot. :o)

Marko: I stand corrected. I was going from memory. Is there anyway we can see what's under her floorboards then? :-)

Minor point, Larry, but it was Ignatow's floor that talked, not his walls.

OK, Louisvillesux, tell us how you REALLY feel? Who's the enigma who is forcing you to stay here? Perhaps you may not be aware of this, but Louisville is a basketball town. Although I don't have much of an interest in the Cards or Cats, I'm curious as to how you figure that one can either be a basketball junkie OR be concerned about local politics? It's not difficult for a Louisvillian to keep his/her finger on the pulse of 'Ville politics AND have a love of basketball. How dare you!

You wrote: "Even if she is innocent you can bet that she doesn’t have much of a future here because in this backwoods town, you will always have the people that gossip and lie and then go to their events and try to be some sort of community do gooders."

I challenge you to name one place where this doesn't happen. The lying two-faced backstabbers aren't exclusive to Louisville. They're everywhere.

Actually, sometimes walls do talk -- remember Mel Ignatow?
Unfortunately, the walls in that case spoke too late and he got away with murder.
I wonder what's behind the drywall in the Sypher house. Is there anyway to find out before the trial?

Sounds like a terrible place.

I'd leave if I were you. No need to put up with such a dismal town.

I'm amazed at how you have the strength to not jump to any conclusions of your own. You're certainly the model of objectivity.

By the way, in what fair town do you reside? I'm guessing a rural wonderland where straw is most abundant.

Maybe she is smart enough to know that Louisville pretty much has no future anyway. So maybe she has figured that after this trial she can get out of the state and rebuild her life. After all, with the amount of two faced vindictive people in this town its no wonder why a person would have to leave to pursue any type of future.

After all, the local media here trashed the woman to pieces, etc. Even if she is innocent you can bet that she doesn't have much of a future here because in this backwoods town, you will always have the people that gossip and lie and then go to their events and try to be some sort of community do gooders

With people such as this in Louisville, who needs any enemies. Frankly, this city is turning into a joke where the people are more worried about basketball than the mayor spending them into a hole. Where the media doesn't do its job. Where some woman and her issues with the Patron Saint are more scrutinized than the crooks running the city into the ground. A city where vast tracts of it are in disrepair and lack jobs and investment. Meanwhile we are worried with a trial involving basically three or four people involving the extortion of one.

As far as the whole part about her burning bridges. Let's see her husband was an accessory to the whole incident because he took the list of demands to the Saint. Do we see a problem there. Sounds like he was involved too according to the news. As far as the Saint goes, something doesn't fit in all of this either. His making this a public spectacle to start with was to deflect any heat that might have been on him regarding the facts.

That's why he didn't look too well this last few months. Something was on his conscience.

But see, to Louisvillians, none of this would ever fit together and make sense. Is she innocent? Let the courts decide. Eventually the truth will come out. But remember that it is more important that we protect the program and the organization rather than ever coming to the truth.

And for the detractors out there, just remember that Louisville isn't the only place in America to earn a living and your so called culture is vastly overrated. Its becoming more apparent every day that the city is becoming a joke. You can see it in local politics, you can see how the school board glosses over the superintendents issues, you see it in the workplace.
