Calvin Gets Political

The big guns are coming out in the push for casino gaming in Kentucky — jockey Calvin Borel, just off a disappointing third in the Belmont Stakes, just recorded a radio ad for the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) in which he says the following:

I moved to Kentucky 12 years ago to be in the horse capital of the world. I see signs every day our industry is in trouble. Horses that are here are leaving. If we don’t do something soon, our industry will leave.

It’s just not clear what it will take to get the votes in Frankfort necessary to make some things change.
