During his quarterly appearance on WFPL’s State of Affairs radio program, Mayor Jerry Abramson said he plans to decide whether or not to run for a third term in the next two months.
He said that is about as long as he can wait without starting to raise money for another campaign. The primary for the 2010 race is less than a year away. Abramson said that if he doesn’t run, he wants to make his decision in time for other candidates to start their campaigns.
Plenty of names have popped up on the Democratic side as candidates should Abramson decide against running — and we’ve discussed here and on Page One the possibility that he’ll run for Lt. Gov. with Steve Beshear in 2010.
Among the names apparently considering the race are Council members David Tandy and Jim King. Local businessmen Craig Greenberg, Tyler Allen and Greg Fisher are also rumored to be making plans to run. We’ve mentioned councilman Kevin Kramer and County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw as potential Republican candidates.

Tandy or King???….now that’s a Scary thought!.
What a couple of Slugs with NO BALLS! They haven’t done what has been the right thing, when they have had the chance. Get David Jones or someone with some common business sense to run……At least he’d have no interest to sell his soul to someone like Cordish, and screw all the locals.

Jerry’s done, you can tell in his voice. If he hasn’t made up his mind at this point, it’s a foregone conclusion he’s out of here. He doesn’t want an ugly primary and while he’ll still win a general – he’d take a lot of hits along the way.

Well, looks like Beshear may accomplish SOMETHING; getting Jerry out of Louisville.

Gov. Beshear will never win re-election if Jerry Abramson is his running mate. Kentucky hates Louisville and everything about it. Louisville might as well be its seperate independant state. Ask yourself this, would you really want the possiblity of Jerry running things for the entire state the way he runs things in Louisville? I dont think so, he would screw up this entire state the way he has screwed up Louisville.

What about me? I too have played a big role in developing our City. It would be a seemless transaction for me to follow my boss.

Well, Bruce, we trust you because you have a pretty good track record and all…
Who really wants to know how the money comes and goes anyway? Isn’t that the job of friends and family of our elected leaders? Don’t bother me with that junk! Bring on Bruce! He’ll keep that stuff to himself – no matter what.

Lets just hope that Jerry gives it up and his replacement is not Tandy, King, Traughber, or anyone else on the current council or a city employee. We need some fresh business blood in the mayors office. Would love to see a John Schnatter, David Jones, or someone else in the business community get involved. That shouldn’t be a hospital or medical exec but a real businessman with ideas of how to create jobs and new business.

I agree with you Big Daddy!….Imagine the things someone like David Jones could do for this City and where it would be in eight years. We desperately need the CROOKS Out!….I can’t believe that Traughber, Jerry,Tandy,King and some others haven’t been charged with fraud & conspiracy?……

Don’t worry student in King’s case he is being investigated now. In Tandy and others case it is in the works.
Stay tuned………
