Power’s Out Everywhere

June 18th, 2009 by admin · 15 Comments

This is a hell of a storm. Power’s out, even in the studios over at WHAS, as we’re hearing on the Francene show. Wonder what’s happening at the Mayor’s press conference on the Waterfront?

What’s happening where you are? At least you’ve got power for your computer, unless you’re operating on battery.  Feeling very fortunate to have power here at V.V. HQ.

Good news – it’s supposed to blow through fairly quickly.

Let us know what’s going on in your world in the comments section below.

We didn’t get anything in Oldham County. But there is another storm cluster getting cued up in Iowa now for this afternoon.

    To quote Bill Murray:

“This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together – mass hysteria.”

Actually it wasn’t too bad in Middletown & Anchorage. Bad rain and lightening, but the power is still on for a welcome change.

I swear at about 1045a downtown, that was as dark as I’ve ever seen a storm during the day. It literally looked like 930p at night out there… not pitch-black, but night-time dark for sure. Crazy stuff.

I was trying to download some highly illegal German snuff when — wouldn’t you know it — a lightning bolt done and fried my computer… :(

Storm is just now reaching Covington, KY. It has been dark all morning and have seen flashes of lightening and some thunder.

Since I left town in early September, Louisville has had a hurricane, ice storm, and now thunderstorms knocking out power and creating havoc among the masses. Who is to blame for this foul mess? I remember Louisville having Kentucky blue skies, with an atmosphere of seashells and balloons. d.s.

Guess this means there’ll be nothing on the shelves at Kroger today.

Wow,yes, what Chris said. It was so dark in Old Louisville. We didn’t lose power but it rained so fiercely that water blew into some of the less secure windows in the historic home where I work.

I’m up in Indy, we got some stuff up here, but not nearly as bad as what you all are describing.

    Was SW Louisville hit badly?

    John,
I’m living on the Gulf Coast of Alabama where the hurricane season lives in the form of 90+ temps and 100% humidity. But we haven’t lost our power since arriving last fall, and the water is full of fish.
